"I'm getting the feeling that you're not listening." Said the "boy" looking down at me

I look up from my book "because I'm not."

He purses his lips and shakes his head "you're useless."

"Only on Mondays." I correct him eyes glued to my book. He walks away annoyed

What's his problem? He's acting like the world is going to end.

Time skipppppp

I get up needing to go to the bathroom. I walk up the stairs when suddenly I hear a loud bang.

What was that?

I walk over to where the sound was coming from heading up to the half opened door, I stood with my back against the wall  listening to what was going on.

I hear him say multiple curses to himself.

He's really having a rough day

I slowly walk in revealing myself to the boy.

"What do you want?" He questions

I kept my eyes glued to the clutered desk waiting a minute before answering.

"I just came to check on you. See what was going on." I say

"Its none of your business." He says dryly. ouch

"okay." I say walking out going down the hallway heading for the bathroom.

Before I make it in Five spacial jumps in front of me.

"actually I could use your help with something."

"I'm listening." I reply

"Okay, well I have to go steal some important paperwork, and I need someone to be on lookout."

"When have you ever needed someone to be on lookout?" I retort

"Since...right now." He states shuffling his hands around in his pants pockets.

I hummed in response.

"Fine I'll do it, but I would really like to use the bathroom first." I say. He nods and moves out of the way.

After I finish I walk back to Fives room and  Lean against the door frame. He looks up from whatever he was doing "ready?" He asks.

I nod

"well let's go then."

We walk out of the academy heading on our journey "how exactly are we going to get to this destination of yours?" I ask

"We walk." He replies.

"No way. You know that there is much faster ways to get to this place right? For example spacial jumping!" I exclaim.

"Yeah well I don't feel like it. So let's start going before it gets dark."

Am I dreaming or is this real? I pinch myself hoping that I wake up. "Ouch!" I yell out. Definitely not dreaming.

Five turns around looking confused. He doesn't question my actions, and directs his attention back to the street.

My legs are killing me. If I knew we would be going on a hiking trip I would have stretched before.

"How long has it been? Are we almost there yet." I say dreading my life existence.

"We just started walking. Haven't even made it 2 minutes in." He exclaimed

"That's it. This is the end. This is the spot where I shall die!" I dramatically state

He rolls his eyes clearly annoyed at my actions before getting serious and explaining how we need to not be taking this lightly blah blah blah and we might die because of my reckless actions. Yeah and then he went on to say that he probably wont ever ask me to do anything ever again. Yeah yeah, like that's true.

Whatever... I knew that he would come crawling on his knees begging for me to come back if I were to leave right now, but I didn't want him to feel embarrassed so I'll stop myself just this once.

We end up walking for a while none of us speaking not wanting to disturb the peace that finally fell upon the cool evening air.

As the sun was setting I couldn't help but stare at the beautiful glowing sight infront of me that being the hargreeves boy. In this moment it felt as if everything had stopped as I examined the way his hair softy flowed about with the gentle breeze and how with every movement different shadows along with the sun's fading rays would move along every inch of his body.

Then there was his eyes that sparkled so nicely showing off all of the facades he held that he didn't show the world.

I'd always wished that he would open up to me more. Maybe if he would let me know what's going on in his chaotic life, I would be able to atleast lessen his load a little.

It's always what we have done ever since we met back when. We were always a team. And now It's like I barely know him.

Then I finally realized that he had been looking at me. I turn away quickly my face burning in embarrassment. I couldn't bring myself to look back at him in this moment so I just looked down and lowly mumbled a sorry.

He stared at me for a quick second before shaking his head and continuing forward a few feet until he stopped and turned to me

"We're here"

I look around confused because I hadn't seen any buildings in sight. Maybe he was hallucinating I looked at him with my eyebrow raised questioning his current doings.

I spoke up saying "what about the paperwork? Did you get lost and you're trying to cover it up by acting like you know where we ar- " I was cut off when Five grabbed my wrist and pulled me with him towards the end of the cliff we were on.

I couldn't lie there was a split second I thought that he was about to throw me off of the cliff, but I threw that idea away when we stopped and he had let go of my wrist directing his gaze to the scenery ahead of us.

It was absolutely stunning the way the hills turned a golden color and the grass upon the flowing like a river as the wind carried it along. Then there was the stream. It was rippling as it moved the things beneath the water, becoming blurry as it did. I couldn't help but smile and admire every little detail.

Five cleared his throat causing me to direct my attention to him. He looks down to his hands which pull out two chocolate bars from his pockets both of them noticeably melted as they both pathetically dangled. I laugh at the sight causeing the boy next to me to do the same.

"Well so much for that, huh." He says rhetorically

I nod before becoming somewhat serious

"So...umm what is this all about, five?"
I finally ask

He stares ahead silently for a minute figuring out whether he should speak or not. He does

"I miss you"

"Huh" I blurt out

"I haven't had a time like this since who knows when. I needed this, y’know a break from these pre-apocalyptic events, and  you've always had a way of being less annoying than the rest of those idiots."

I listened carefully as he spoke before I pulled him in for a hug

We stayed like that for a long moment. I then felt like it was a good time to speak up.

"I've missed you too. I want us to be like the old us. I miss our teamwork, and just being able to hang out with you like this. Just maybe next time don't have us walk two miles to the middle of nowhere. I was starting to fear for my life."

He chuckled pulling away from my embrace

I spoke up again before the atmosphere became akward.

"I'm kind of hungry now. Why don't we go grab some dinner or something?"

He shrugged his shoulders motioning his arm forward telling me to go on ahead of him.

I looked back giving him an annoyed expression before setting my feet into motion.

"I'm starting to think that you have forgotten how to spacial jump."

"Just walk."
