"ALRIGHT Tewky I've got your-" I opened Tewksburys door but stopped mid-sentence once I saw a blank room with a neatly made bed

I looked around the room from where I was and clutched onto the tray "You're not funny, Scare my once it okay, Scare me four times you're an utter knob, scare me as many times as you have.." I sighed

I took a step forward into the room, the floorboards creeping under my worn out, black, lace-up boots

I checked behind the door and turned to have but another look around "really? are you going to make me come find you?" No response

I walked into the room not caring if he scared me because all it was going to do was make me spill his tea and milk

I managed to make it in safely placing the tray down on his side table then turning around to check more of his dim-lit room

I folded my arms "Lord Vicount Tewksbury, Marquess of Basilweather I am not playing this game of hide and seek with you come out now or I will not hesitate to tell your father about your little stunt last week!" I slightly raised my voice hoping he would come out in fear

I rolled my eyes not even hearing movement when he knew I could never tell on him especially When I could get in trouble too

I checked: Under the bed, in his wardrobe, in his bathroom and even in his larger drawers - you never know where that boy could be - but he wasn't anywhere to be found

I thought he might have just forgotten and gone out to the garden so that's where I headed for next

The sound of my feet knocking against the ground as I walked was one of the only sounds to be heard other than a crackling fire in the other room where Tewksbury's grandma sat, I'd never really spoken to her other than when she once asked me who I was but after that she'd always seem to look at me funny

Once I reached the front door I opened it slowly, squinting at the sight of sunlight

I skipped down to where Benjamin Smith was, trimming hedges

"Hello Smith" I greeted him. He looked up wiping the sweat from his forehead and planting a smile on his lips

"Gray!" He responded cheerily as always "Have you seen Tewksbury? Left him alone for 10 minutes making him a cup of tea and he's already disappeared off some where" I rolled my eyes

"uhm sort of, but I promised him I wouldn't tell you" He looked down and my mouth hung agape slightly

"If you can't tell me, why let me know you've seen him?" I ask flabbergasted but the boys thinking "well I could be persuaded" His smile came back but it was a lot more cheeky

He put out his hand and rubbed his fingers together representing he wanted money "you think I have money to give?" He shrugged

I scoffed lightly ruffling around in my apron pocket and pulling out 3 50p coins "Would this do?" I asked slightly annoyed i was being robbed by someone who was meant to be my friend

He hummed happily taking the money from my hand and pushing it in his pocket "He came out here with a big empty bag, a knife and some money in his hand and said don't tell anyone.. but then he somehow zipped himself up in the bag and some guy put him in a carriage" I blinked twice

"So you let him.. run away, is what you're saying" I raised my eyebrows

"well.. I gu- guess in so many word yes, yes. why?" I nodded without answering his question turning on my heel and walking away

I sighed once back in the house quickly walking up to my shared room and closing the door behind to slide down on

I shook my head quickly rising and grabbing an old bag with a beautiful golden crossed-sword pin that had belong to my father

I stuffed in some two skirts, 3 shirts, some underwear, 2 sets of socks and the rest of my money

I stood to my feet and walked to the door, My hand skimmed over the handle only for me to pull it away hesitating with what I do next

One thought ran over and over in my mind and I tried to shut it out but I just couldn't shake it

He wouldn't leave me, Would he?
