Elisabeth gasped in shock, taking in her surroundings. A large black room with foggy circular windows across one of the six walls. In the centre, a hexagonal control panel rested. Steam filled the large glass tube in the centre of the controls. She stepped back, her pink platform boots creaking against the metal grating. To the left, a winding staircase led below. A monitor, attached to the top of the tube, displayed several blinking red dots. Another section of wall was a mirror, reflecting the girl's features. Brown eyes, shoulder length feathered brown hair, button nose, pale skin.

"Who in the world are you?" A deeper female voice echoed through the room. Elisabeth spun around, seeing a woman in the doorway of the police box. A dark grey cardigan covered the strange woman securely. On the woman's head a sunhat rested, a strange green feather tucked in it.

"Are you the pilot of this thing?" The young woman cried, her chin quivering slightly. For a moment the two women stood in silence, neither of them speaking. The strange woman walked over to the controls of the ship, pressing a button repeatedly. "For Christ's sake what's that?"

"A stress button," the mysterious woman spun around, glaring at the other woman. "And I'm The Doctor, thanks for asking."

"I'm in a spaceship. An actual spaceship! What were you expecting?" Elisabeth glared at The Doctor with her deep brown eyes, crossing her frail arms. The Doctor chuckled to herself, glancing over at the defiant woman. Gritting her teeth, the confused young woman slammed her hand on the controls, accidentally pushing a button. Bright white lights pierced through the glass windows, almost blinding the woman. The Doctor's hand held the other woman's tightly. Both women screamed as the room shook, knocking them over. Elisabeth lay on the metal grating, catching her breath. The Doctor walked over to the monitor, pressing a button. An image of a snowy area appeared on it.

"What's your name?" The Doctor asked, turning to the confused woman. By now she had stood up and made her way to the door.

"My name is Elisabeth, Elisabeth Borough. Now tell me what happened!" the woman said, crossing her arms yet again.

"We are in the TARDIS. Stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. You just took us to 1958 Antarctica. Now go get changed," the older woman said, pointing to a wall. As if on cue it slid up, revealing a corridor.

"No! You're insane!" Elisabeth sprinted outside, finding herself in a drab grey corridor. She peered outside of a window, watching snow fly around outside. Her eyes widened as backed away, soft hand meeting the coarse concrete wall. The Doctor stepped out of the TARDIS, resting a hand against the dark blue exterior. They exchanged glances; The Doctor's one of excitement and joy, Elisabeth's that of terror and fear.

"Stay calm Elisabeth. Sit with me," The Doctor seated herself on a wooden bench on the side of the corridor, adjacent to a door. Sighing shakily, Elisabeth walked over to the mysterious older woman, knee-high platform boots clacking against the floor. She sat down, her face gaunt.

"So, The Doctor. Who are you?" the young girl asked, flattening the creases on her mustard yellow turtleneck jumper. She clasped her hands together and looked down, brown hair covering her face from view.

"Well I am an alien," The Doctor paused for a moment, her forehead wrinkling as she furrowed her brows. "You aren't going to scream or run?"

"Of course aliens exist," Elisabeth said, rolling her eyes. "Six years ago, my sixteenth birthday. Killer window shop dummies almost shot me." The Doctor looked dumbfounded for a moment, staring blankly at the human.

"Well, that police box is called a TARDIS. It stands for Time and Relative Dimensions In Space. It can travel anywhere in space and time," the older woman smiled, "Right now we're in a 1958 Arctic research station."

"Well, nice talk, The Doctor. Now can you take me home?" the twenty-two year old woman asked, standing up. Her argyll miniskirt moved as she walked back down the corridor, to the TARDIS. Her pearl earrings shone in the bright yellow industrial lights, gold embroidery around the material glittering. The Doctor trailed after her, following her.

Peering out of the glass window, Elisabeth noted that the storm still raged. A poorly-defined silhouette stood outside, barely visible through the thick sleet outside. The Doctor's pale hand settled on the other woman's soldier.

"Elisabeth, please try to understand. We are here for a reason. The TARDIS wanted us here," the aging woman turned her companion around. "Now follow me."

Elisabeth and The Doctor walk up to the steel door leading into the large courtyard. They exchange glances before the strange woman takes something out of her pocket. A black instrument with a silver antenna pointing out of it. She slid a part of it, prompting the antenna to start spinning around. The steel door opened, snow and frost flying into the corridor.

"Go into the TARDIS, Elisabeth. Get into something warm," The Doctor advised to the younger woman, spinning around and pressing a button on the device. Red lights flashed across the instrument as an unearthly wooping filled the air as the TARDIS appeared before their eyes. Elisabeth stepped inside, eyes wide.

"Wait so it's bigger on the inside, an alien flies it AND it can just appear?!" The young woman cried. She ran to a doorway, watching it open. A large wardrobe stood, filled with clothes.

Ten minutes later, Elisabeth stepped outside of the TARDIS. A dark blue coat covered most of her, with a white lace trim. Denim bell bottoms covered her legs, with a pair of ankle high black boots. Her feathered dark brown hair fluttered around her mid-back. She joined The Doctor next to the open door, noticing she hadn't changed. The mysterious lady handed her a flashlight, turning one on herself. The girl pulled the hood of her coat over her head and stepped outside, turning her flashlight on.

"The Doctor, why are we going out here?" the youth asked the other woman, their flashlights shining lights on small patches of the large courtyard. Silhouettes of the u-shaped building surrounded them. Snow was catching in the free strands of their hair and reaching her knees, irritating the younger woman.

Turning around, Elisabeth screamed in horror. The barrel of a double-shotgun was shoved against the bottom of her quivering chin. An older man with grey hair and green eyes stared at her, his grip on the firearm tightening. Her eyes widened as she spun around, dropping the torch and trying to flee. White light framed the two time travellers in light as a group of men surrounded them, pistols, rifles and shotguns at the ready.
