Taehyung was with Jin, sitting at their favorite cafe. Jin was fiddling with his cup, trying to tell Taehyung something, but he hesitated.  Taehyung noticed and raised a brow. "You have anything you want to say to me?" he asked, catching Jin off guard.

"Was I that obvious?" he asked, a little embarrassed. Taehyung nodded with a chuckle. "What is it?"

"Well... you know I've been thinking of settling down with Jisoo for a while now, right?" Jin asked. Taehyung nodded and grew curious. "I want to propose to her later," he said. Taehyung widened his eyes. "Dude! That's great news. That girl has been waiting for you to propose. You've finally become a man," Taehyung laughed and punched him playfully.

"Anyways, what happened to your love life?" Jin smirked. Taehyung chuckled and faced him while shaking his head. "It isn't time yet, hyung. It'll come," he said. Jimin sighed and clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Taehyung, you've been waiting for 3 years! And she's been waiting as well. Not everyone has the amount of patience your girlfriend has, you know?"

"I know, hyung... that's why I want it to be perfect," Taehyung said and took out a box. "The time will come, it's just not now," he said as he caressed the box.

"I understand. Well, I have to leave now. I need to prepare," he excitedly said and left the cafe, leaving Taehyung sitting at his seat alone. He opened the box in his hand and held the ring in it. "I'll propose, Chae,"

"Just not now,"

Taehyung took off his shoes and entered his apartment. "Chaeyoung! I'm home!" But he didn't get any response as usual. "Chae?" he called as he entered the living room. He sighed in relief when he saw her asleep on the couch. "You scared me," he muttered and walked over to her.

Kneeling down to the couch, he tucked her fallen strands of hair behind her ear while gazing at her face. Apparently he wasn't gentle enough because Chaeyoung's eyes fluttered open right after. "Sorry," Taehyung apologized as she sat up.

"No... It's okay. I need to talk to you," she said and rubbed her eyes. "Can't we talk tomorrow, baby? I'm really tired and you look tired as well," Taehyung said as he pecked her forehead. "No. We need to talk now," Chaeyoung said before he could stand up. "It's important," she continued.

"Okay... go on," he said and sat next to her on the couch. Chaeyoung fiddled with her fingers as she bit her lips. After a few moments, she breathed in and exhaled shakily.

"Let's break up," she said. Taehyung froze. He then chuckled shakily. "Is this a joke? If it is then it's not funny," he said as he cupped her face and looked into her eyes.

She wasn't joking.

"I'm serious, Taehyung. I want a break up," she said as she pulled his hand away from her face. "Why? I- is it because I didn't propose yet? Is that it? Because I can propose right now!" he stuttered. Chaeyoung shook her head. "Then, why Chae?!" he yelled.

"I don't love you anymore!" she yelled back. "I don't want to hurt you and myself. Let's break up," she sighed. Taehyung shook his head in denial. "No, Chae. You can't do this to me," he said as tears fell from his eyes. He knelt down and held her hands. "Don't leave me, please," he begged.

"Taehyung... we can't do this. I can't do this anymore," Chaeyoung said in the most gentle voice she could muster.
