Chapter 29

Once everyone left, I ran up to Kaneki and hugged him tightly. He wasn't expecting it so he stumbled backwards a bit.

"We did it!" I smiled.

"We're getting closer," he said.

"But still, we're getting there."

"Yeah, that we are."

"We'll see you later, Kaneki," Touka said and walked out of the room.

Ayato, Nishiki, and Shuu walked out as well. It was just the two of us in the room.

"We should probably get going," Kaneki said.

"Right. Date night tonight," I smiled.

He smiled and kissed the top of my head before we walked out of the room. We reached the lobby and Hide was there waiting for us.

"Hey, guys!" Hide said and walked over to us.

"Hey, Hide," we said.

"That was a pretty intense conference," he chuckled. "I'm glad I didn't have to say anything or get in the middle of it."

"Yeah they would think you're siding with us because you're friends with us," Kaneki said.

"Yeah, that's true. Anyway, where you guys heading off to?"

"We were going to grab something to eat," Kaneki said.

"Oh, nice! So where are we going?" Hide asked.

"Um," I said.

"It was just going to be the two of us. You know. Alone," Kaneki said.

"Yeah. And?"

I sighed, "You can choose where we go, Hide."

"Nice! There's an excellent place not too far from here. Let's go."

We let Hide walk a bit in front of us before we started following him.

"I'm sorry about this," Kaneki said.

"It's fine," I said and grabbed his hand. "Hide means well."

"Man you two walk slow," Hide chuckled as we finally reached the place.

"Just wanted to enjoy the view while coming here," Kaneki said.

"Wait, that reminds me. How are you guys going to eat if you can't have human food?"

"We were just going to get some coffee," I lied.

"Oh, I see. Well tonight is on me," Hide smiled.

"Are you sure, Hide?" I asked.

"We don't want you to do that," Kaneki said.

"No buts, Kaneki! My treat! You guys did great today and I felt like I didn't really contribute. So this is my contribution."

"Thanks, Hide," we said and stepped inside the small restaurant.

We sat down and ordered our drinks. Since we were well known, everyone knew that we were ghouls and knew that we couldn't eat. However, they were a bit wary around us. But I think after today's conference airs, people might be more considerate, but then there will still be people who see us differently.

After Hide had finished up, we left the restaurant and Kaneki and I headed back to our place and Hide went back to his. While we were walking, we were discussing how we could go further with the basic plan we had made today.

"I'm going to grab a quick shower," I said.

"Alright. I'll be waiting," Kaneki smiled at me.

I smiled and before I went upstairs I gave him a quick peck on the lips. After I got out of the shower, I headed downstairs to see Kaneki had gotten everything ready. I smiled and walked over to the table. The lights were dim and there were a few candles on the table.

"I knew you had something planned, but I didn't know this was planned," I smiled.

"I wanted to surprise you."

"Consider me surprised," I said and sat down.

He sat across from me and we both began to eat. Once we were finished, the two of us cleaned up. It was more like I cleaned while Kaneki dried the dishes. As we were finishing up, Kaneki leaned towards me and wrapped his arms around my waist. I smiled and leaned into him. He put his head on my shoulder and started to plant light kisses on my neck.

"I guess you want to do this now?" I asked.

"Only if you're ok with doing it," he said.

I turned around and pulled him towards me, placing my lips against his. He lifted me up and placed me on the counter. It didn't last long as I wrapped my legs around his waist and he lifted me up once more. He pulled away and walked towards the stairs, continuing his attack on my neck. He walked into our room and closed the door. He walked over to the bed and set me down.

"Are you ready?" he asked.

I nodded my head. I sat up and Kaneki turned his back to me. I slid his shirt down a bit and leaned towards the top of his back.

"I'm sorry if this hurts," I said.

"It's supposed to," he said.

"I know. Here," I said and slipped my arms around his waist. He rested his hand on top of mine and I leaned towards him.

My lips lightly brushed against his back. I closed my eyes and bit hard down on his back. I felt his body tense up and his hand squeezed mine. I could taste some blood start to seep out from my bite I had given him. I bit a little harder before I released my hold on him. I removed my arms from his waist and I got up and grabbed a towel to wipe away the blood that was coming out.

"You ready?" Kaneki asked.

"Yeah," I said and sat on his lap.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. He reached up and removed my shirt a bit away from my chest. Before he got there, he pressed his lips against my neck to try to help calm me down before he reached my collarbone. He bit down into my collar and I wrapped my arms around him and clawed at his back. 

"Kaneki," I said.

"I'm sorry, Y/N," he said and he bit down again.

"Y/N? Kaneki?" Kage said before he opened up the door.

I looked up at him and Kage looked a bit confused. Kaneki was about to pull away, but I pressed my hand against the back of his head and forced him not to look up. 

"Kage, I thought you were staying a bit later today."

"One of my friends dropped me off. I was just going to head to bed."

"I'll be in in a minute," I said.

"Ok," he said and closed the door. 

I removed my hand from the back of Kaneki's head and he pulled away. I took the towel and wiped the blood from my collar. Kaneki wiped the blood from his mouth and looked up at me.

"I didn't want him to see the blood," I said. "He'd question what we were doing."

"You don't think he'll question what we were doing tonight?"

"He will, but I'll think of something."

"Y/N?" Kaneki asked.

"Yeah?"

"What do you think about having a family together?"
