The last few days had been pretty hectic. Rebekah had teamed up with Marcel in an attempt to put Klaus away for good but they failed. As a result, Marcel handed the reigns to New Orleans in Klaus' hands. He was now the king. He hadn't spoken to Elijah in a couple of days. Klaus was avoiding him. He was hurt by the behaviour of his siblings. They both turned against him. Sophia watched as Klaus played with a dagger he was holding. She tried to convince him not to dagger Elijah or Rebekah but she didn't know if she had succeeded or not. She noticed Rebekah walk inside, making Klaus turn around.

"Elijah's home. There's only one dagger. Which one of us will you be punishing today?" Rebekah asked.

"I contemplated a game of eeny meenie minie moe." He said. He used his vampire speed to hold the dagger up to Rebekah. "You betrayed me, my own sister."

"Niklaus, don't you dare." Elijah said as he walked in.

"Perhaps it should be you, brother." Klaus said as he turned to look at him. "Abandoning me. Turning your back against me."

"Is that what this is? You are once again worried that you will be left behind?" Rebekah said. "Has history taught you nothing? We don't abandon you, Nik. You drive us away."

"Is that so? What have I done lately other than cooperate?" Klaus asked. Sophia could feel tears building in her eyes. She knew Klaus was hurt. He tried listening to everyone but once again, everyone saw him as the bad guy. She saw as tears built in his eyes, making her heart ache for him. "I bowed down to you, brother, to make up for daggering you for the greater good of our plan to reclaim our home. Look the other way, sister. While you repeat the same cycle with Marcel, falling in love once again with a man you shouldn't be with whilst he controls the empire that we built, that he took! The only person who stood by me was my beloved Sophia. No one else supported me. My own siblings didn't support me."

Sophia wiped the tears that were falling from her face. She needed to let Klaus tell his siblings how he was feeling. It was the only way he'd feel any better. "You know, I heard the conversation you had with Sophia, Rebekah about how I have everything you've ever wanted and for the first time, I understood why you craved true love and a family so badly. I understand the happiness it brings a person and I was actually willing to let you go."

"What?" Rebekah practically whispered. Did her brother actually come around after all these years?

"I wanted to let you go and find someone. Fall in love and experience the same happiness that I experience everyday. For once, I didn't want to be selfish. I just wanted you to be happy, Rebekah even if that meant you leaving me. I can't believe I even considered letting you be happy not knowing you were conspiring against me." Klaus said as Rebekah looked at her older brother in shock. He was finally ready to give her everything she had ever wanted and she ruined it by going against her brother who only had good intentions in mind towards his siblings, his fiancé and his daughter.
