I don't know
what you've been told
I'm really trying my best
To live a life
that's worth living for,
but you don't want to see me grow.
It hurts real deep
when you don't see
all the work
I had to put in.
You throw sticks and stones
until I'm bruised up,
then you run to give me love.
Oh, I don't know
what you've been told
but I'm not really
like that.
I am lost and cold
trying to build a home
that's worth surviving for.
