1

like a shadow

our lives are short

we slip into death

as a shadow melts into the sun

for that is life

a mere shadow on the sun of death

insignificant,short

because life is only an extension of death

we only live to die.

2

as the snow falls

there is a blade of grass

new life

only to be covered by a mountain of snow

by the mountain that is death

for death is large,gaping

an abyss yet also a mountain

one that many have struggled to climb

but none have succeeded.

3

roses are beautiful but thorny

Like Love

it is enveloping while it lasts

but can turn thorny quickly

because nothing ever lasts

love, life, even roses do not

as roses wilt in the winter

love dissipates

and lives end

given up to death and time

as roses give up to Winter
