Father’s words swirled inside my head.

“…….a, prince? I knew El was from the neighboring country, but their prince……..is that true?”

“Yes, there’s no doubt. We did a thorough investigation when we found El. That’s why we are absolutely positive El is the second prince of the neighboring nation Ashtel.
But, I then told the King and Queen of Ashtel that El had lost his voice from the trauma, and that the people in charge of the dark auction might come for him again. So we decided he would stay here until the mastermind was caught…….”

“….oh, so……El. Then does this mean El has to go back since the mastermind was caught?”

El’s been right next to me for so long, and the idea of him going away, I hate it. So I hugged him close and asked Father about what would happen next.

“The King, Queen, and all of his siblings have been waiting for El to come home. Don’t you think it’d be too sad to keep El away from his family?”

“……yes”

“Then El should get ready, because we leave in three days. …….and what about you Rose? Do you want to come with us and see off El?”

Father made a small, mean smile.

“I’ll go!!!”

The next three days I got to spend with El were way too short, and the day of departure arrived before I knew it.

“El-kun, take care. Although I suppose I shouldn’t call you El-kun anymore…….but I’ll miss you.”

Saying her farewells, Mother gave El a big hug and kissed him on the cheek.

El turned his head down and looked at his feet, obviously a little embarrassed, but he quickly looked back up and mouthed, “Thank you,” towards Mother.

“All right, then let’s go!”

Father, me, El, Allen, and a handful of guards all left for Ashtel.

We stopped for breaks every now and then, but we arrived at the kingdom of Ashtel a lot sooner than I thought we would.

(Haa, it’s too soon. I wanted to spend more time with El, I’m not satisfied at all. I don’t want him to leave. But, I don’t want him to have to leave his family either. So, I’ll just have to put up with it.)

“Yosh, we’re here. You’re not used to riding on a carriage for so long, so do you feel tired? We’re in Ashtel, but since it’s still a little ways until we reach the capitol, we’ll rest here for today.”

I was feeling so lonely because El was going away that I didn’t really notice, but after I got off the carriage, I realized how tired and sore my body was.

(I never rode on a carriage during my past life either, so my body and mind are both exhausted. I’m probably going to fall asleep as soon as I get into bed.)

“So it should be fine if Rose and I share one room while Allen and El stay in the other right?”

“Eh!? No! I want to sleep with El. El’s always slept with me whenever it was time for bed before.”

That’s right, ever since that first night when El had that nightmare, we’ve always gone to bed together.

“Wha-!? R-Rose, is that really true!?”

“Huh!?”

Father and Allen both suddenly turned on me and forcefully asked if El and I had really been sleeping together.

“Y-Yeah. Because El, that first night he stayed with us, he came to my room crying because he saw a scary dream. So we’ve slept in the same bed together ever since then.”

“Wh-Wh…… E-El, do you understand the meaning of what you’ve done?”

*Nod* *Nod*

“……so it’s a premeditated crime……”

“??”

I didn’t understand what Father meant by his question to El, so I was left with a bunch of question marks flying over my head.
