JEROME POV:

"Daddy, I missed you." Aaliyah yelled, when I picked her up. Honestly, she was too old for me to be picking her up but I didn't get to see my baby girl that often so I took full advantage each time I got to spend time with her.

Aireka is always on some bullshit about us getting together and being a family but I'm not with it so she uses Aaliyah against me. I don't like it but since I'm not on child support there's not much I can do. I refuse to kiss Aireka's ass but at the same time, I'll do anything to be able to have a relationship with my daughter. Shit is tough, man.

"I missed you too Princess." I said kissing her cheek.

"Daddy, she's pretty." Aaliyah said noticing Armoni.

"Who's pretty? You better not have no other hoes in here around my daughter, Rome. I'm not playing with your black ass." Aireka said coming into the apartment.

"Nope, the only hoe in here is you, and watch your mouth around my daughter. This is my roommate Armoni, Armoni this is my daughter Aaliyah and her mother Aireka." I said checking Aireka, before I introduced them.

"Hi Moni" Aaliyah said cutely. Aaliyah has a bit of a speech impediment so some words she can't really pronounce clearly. I guess Armoni was one of those words she couldn't pronounce.

"Whatever, I need some money when you bring her back and don't bring her back til Thursday cause Imma be out of town." Aireka said throwing Aaliyah's Hello Kitty duffle bag I bought her on the ground.

"Bye Aireka." Aaliyah called after she walked out of the door without even saying bye to our daughter. This hoe.

"She seems like a keeper." Armoni said coming up behind me and Aaliyah. I rolled my eyes before turning around to face her. Aireka irks my damn nerves, I regret even fucking with her hoe ass. Her pứssy wasn't even that good. "Hi honey, how are you?" Armoni asked Aaliyah.

"Good." She replied with a smile. Aaliyah is really shy at times and it takes a lot for her to open up to people. Hell, she barely even talks to me sometimes. "Do you have food I'm hungry? And can we watch cartoons?"

"Yeah, let's go in the kitchen so you can eat and then we can watch cartoons together." Armoni said smiling at Aaliyah. I put Aaliyah down so she could follow after Armoni into the kitchen. "You mind if I fix her something to eat?" She asked me, I nodded my head before shrugging.

"Okay mommy." Aaliyah said grabbing Armoni's hand. "I-I mean Moni." She stuttered, realizing what she had just done.

"It's okay sweetie." Armoni told her with a small smile. She looked up at me with wide eyes and I just shrugged. I didn't know what to tell her, she doesn't even call her own mom, mommy, she calls her by her first name.

After Armoni and my baby girl went into the kitchen, I decided to put her stuff away in my room and then put on her favorite movie. Despicable Me. She loves that damn movie, she watches it all day, every damn day. I walked into the kitchen to find Armoni and Aaliyah saying grace over the peanut butter and jelly sandwich and Capri Sun they were about to eat. After Armoni said the prayer she looked up at me. Damn she was beautiful and I wanted her to be all mine.

"Daddy, look we made you two sandwiches. I made mine and she made yours." She informed me.

"Thank you baby, it looks great." I said taking my seat at the island next to my daughter. How in the hell am I going to explain Aaliyah calling Armoni mommy, but she won't even call her own mom, Mommy. Aireka is going to beat my ass.

Armoni POV:

Oh my God! What the hell? Did she just call me mommy? I looked up at Jerome for answers but he gave none, we looked into each other's eyes and when he broke eye contact awkwardly, I walked into the kitchen with Aaliyah holding my hand. After she climbed up onto the island that was in the middle of the kitchen, I looked in the refrigerator and found jelly and lunch meat.
