It's been 3 moons since LynxKit's journey. Red light from the setting sun trickled through the leaves speckling her tricolored pelt. LynxKit had crazed with grief and bitterness, all alone. "Starclan abandoned me.."She turned up toward the fiery sky. The sun melted under the horizon leaving a streak of pink fluttering above. LynxKit sighed with distress. Casually, this would be the time when SwallowFrost will groom the grit wedged beneath her fur.

Casually.

LynxKit shifted into a more comfortable position and parted her jaws into a huge yawn. Moonlight filtering through the leaves turned her paws silver. She was curled up in a tree, where two thick branches met the trunk and made a thick bowl shape. LynxKit closed her eyes letting the darkness overwhelm her own soul.

A bright beam of sunlight shined directly in LynxKit's eyes. She squealed with protest and rolled over. "Just a few more minutes!" She groaned flopping onto her stomach. Heartbeats later, she opened her eyes. LynxKit squeezed herself out of the hollow beneath the roots of the tree. Birds surrounded the forest were humming a delightful tone. The wind picked up a hare scent, forcing LynxKit's mouth to water. "I haven't eaten in ages!" She instinctively dropped down into a hunters crouch. The light breeze draped her fur back smoothly. The hare was a few foxtails ahead of her.
Silence.

But a deathly silence. LynxKit's belly clenched with fear. The wind stopped blowing, the birds paused the chirping. It seemed the world was frozen for eternity. LynxKit bunched up her muscles as she crunched on a twig. The hare twitched and sprinted away. LynxKit hissed out a curse and sunk her claws into the earth. "Foxdung!"
A ruffled purr of amusement rumbled behind her. LynxKit swung our and bared her ivories attempting to look hostile. "Some hunter you are. Do you really think prey is going to leap in your mouth like that?" The Tom mewed patiently. LynxKit growled under her breath. "Shut up you old goose. I don't take advice from wise cracks." The Tom sneered relaxing his broad shoulders. "Your quite the she-cat. What's your name?" LynxKit hesitated for a few heartbeats before answering. "LynxKit." She puffed out her chest. "I'm Dawn, used for be DawnRunner though." LynxKit rolled her eyes. "Nobody asked."
DawnRunner whiskers twitched with laughter. LynxKit studied the Tom hastily. He had a misty grey pelt with white blotches swirled into his pelt. His long legs made LynxKit look tiny. DawnRunner's olive green eyes shined with pride. What a freak LynxKit thought. An idea surged into her torso. "Are you a clan cat?" She asked hopefully.

"Perhaps." Now he was really getting on her nerves. LynxKit flexed her claws impatiently. "Do you have a clan of some sort?" DawnRunner pretended he was thinking about it and gazed at LynxKit. "It's a possibility."

"Unbelievable." LynxKit gave out a gusty sigh. "It's a yes or no question beetle-brain!" DawnRunner parted his jaw apart in a yawn. "Oh. Then yes I belong to Dreamclan. Unfortunately you won't be welcomed." LynxKit hissed with outrage. "Why not?!" DawnRunner smirked and poked her muzzle. "We don't like Foxhearts in our territory!" LynxKit curled lip in a snarl, but said nothing.

I'm wasting daylight.

DawnRunner laughed his olive eyes twinkling. "I'm kidding! Follow me." And hedgehogs fly. LynxKit muffled back her retort and followed the gigging tabby Tom. "I'm gonna regret this.." She muttered brushing past DawnRunner.
