Talc, also known as soap stone, is a very common and practically worthless stone that is still considered a gem. It is easly chipped and is used for medicinal purposes as a powder although its effects are questionable.

Her name is Talc, thus the geology lesson. Homeworld grew billions of Talc because they were easy and quick to make and highly expendable. She was poofed but not shattered or even cracked during a minor skirmish and chose not to come back for a bit. Which turned into years. Decades. Centuries. Until she was bubbled and taken back to beach city.
Until one day sometime in season 1 probably, maybe in season 2, steven was messing around again down there and accidentally unbubbled her.
She's a bit of a prankster and really is sorta just a kid. She might be the last talc alive although nobody can confirm this. She has no special abilities like shape shifting, future sight, floating, metal manipulation etc but she can still pull weapons from her gem. Which for her are throwing knifes.
