"Places, girls, places!"
The backstage is a mess of colours and a riot of noise. It's like a dress factory has overflown into the cramped space, pink fluffy gowns fluttering like clouds. Somebody knocks into a light, and a beam of light swings round the room. The light touches my cage and I scramble back, pulling my tattered nightdress over my legs. My feathered wings twitch and my legs scrabble, the bird-like claws clicking.
"The shows starting in 2 minutes, WHERE'S SAYAKA?!" The director screams.
"I don't know!" Sayaka's band mates chorus, all dressed in identical black minidresses dotted with cobwebs, white feather boas and spiders dotting their perfectly-styled hair.
I let out a sigh. The idols- perfect bodies, perfect hair, perfect lives. I'll never be like them- I can't even choose my life, I'll always be trapped in a cage. But watching them- it makes me forget.
They start practicing, and I sing along, clicking my horrid bird claws.
"You have a lovely singing voice y/n."
"Sayaka!" I splutter, twisting around. Her beautiful blue hair is dripping with black spider toys, but her entire outfit is white and flooded with feathers.
"A- your a swan!"
"Like you y/n!" I'm breaking you out!" She pulls out a pair of rough silver pliers.
"Sayaka! Thank you!" She hacks are the metal.
"SAYAKA! GET BACK HERE!" Bellows the director. Sayaka grabs my hand and pulls me out.
"Come on, y/n, we're out of here!"
My feathery hand in her creamy smooth one, we sprint out of the door.
Onto the stage.
Orange lights blind me, the lights flickering and fluttering on my body. A million fan shriek as the idol walks on stage, that turn to confusion and fear when they see me. The monster.
"Hey everyone! This is my girlfriend/boyfriend/partner y/n!" Sayaka yells.
The crowd erupts in a frenzy. Phones waves and flash and claps echo of the sky.
I stare at her in delight. 
"Really?!" I scream.
"Really!" She grabs my hand. "Your free, y/n. And I won't ever let you be trapped again!"
