Better Now

7•Frustration

Alexis's pov

I pulled up at the end of Harry's driveway I was impressed he had a town house type apartment he only shared 1 common wall unlike me I shared 4 (both sides, floor, and ceiling)

I called him but I saw him step out so I hung up he jogged down his driveway he was in some brown pants with a patterned button up he slipped into my car

"Hey Alexis" he greeted as he closed the door

"Seat belt" I reminded he chuckled and buckled up I leaned kissing his cheek "hey Harry"

He turned his head puckering I kissed him lightly giggling "it's about an hour ride" I gave him a heads up

"Cool I like long car rides" he smirked

"You have such a nice place" I complimented starting on the way

"Thanks I got lucky and no one lives in the place next to me so I get to be as loud and as obnoxious as I please" he chuckled "so uh this place is just doughnuts or?"

"Um honestly I don't know"

I had designed a logo for a new doughnut shop and the ladies were nice enough to invite me to the grand opening today

"Either way I'm hungry" he grinned

I nodded I noticed he was looking at me I huffed a laugh "what?" He shook his head

"Nothing just admiring the view"

"The window is in front of you and/or beside you" I laughed "just so you know"

He shook his head "you're beautiful"

I blushed I rolled my lips together my gloss making my lips glide effortlessly "you're already getting doughnuts what else do you want?"

He sighed "I don't want anything, can't I just state the obvious?" He looked out the windshield "I just haven't seen you for awhile"

We've texted every day ranging from just a simple hi how was your day to long conversations til early hours of the morning but he's right it's been 8 days since we last saw each other in person

We sat in silence for awhile listening the music over the radio until a song I couldn't stand came on I reached to change it the same time as he reached so we ended up hitting each others hands I laughed and took my hand back "you can change it" he changed it flipping through a few stations

"Do you have a cd in?" He asked after not finding anything good

"Um yeah but I dunno if you'd like it" he pressed the cd button and it loaded it was Ed Sheeran it started where I left off in the middle of a song

"Not like Ed Sheeran?" He asked sarcastically "I love Ed's music"

I smiled "personally never really met anyone who appreciated his earlier music, and the kinda sad stuff" I mumbled

"I like it all" he confirmed "so I'll take you to the beach and walk along sand and I'll make you heart pendent with pebble held in my hand"

"And I'll carve it like a necklace so the heart falls just where your chest is and now a piece of the me is a piece of beach and it falls just where it needs to be and rest peacefully" I continued

"So you just need to breathe to feel my heart against yours now against yours now" he sung lowly

I parked when I got out Harry waited for me and held his hand out to me I took it I stopped on the side walk looking up at the store's sign

It was a bit surreal to see my art made into a store sign in real life sure I made a lot of digital art for ads and websites but I've never been able to see it in this way
