I'm so sorry.....

{TW: homophobia, being kicked out, one line mention of god, hope being crushed, lots of crying, swearing, & repressing feelings} Please tell me if there's any more

Patton was walking down the street at 8:30 at night with tears running down his face. How did he get there?

Flashback

"It's going to be okay dear, and if it's not I will come to get you and you can stay with me," Janus said to him

Patton was about to come out to his parents which wouldn't be a bad thing except his parents were strict, strictly catholic, and from everything he had heard them say, very homophobic. To say he was scared would be an understatement, but it was something he thought they should know. He couldn't handle hearing them say anything else homophobic around him, every time he had to listen to it, it felt like a stab to the stomach.

"Thank you... I don't know what I would do without you Jan" Patton told his boyfriend over the phone. He let out a sigh then continued, "okay, I'm gonna tell them before I chicken out, I'll call you after to tell you how it goes. I love you"

"I love you too, good luck," Janus told him, hanging up the phone.

Patton took a deep breath before heading downstairs. He purposely walked down the stairs as slowly as he could but unfortunately, he eventually made it to the bottom. He walked into the living room, his heart pounding, and looked to the couch where both his parents were sitting.

He took one last deep breath before starting, "hey mom, dad, c-can we talk?"

His parents looked at him strangely before muting the TV. "Sure sweetie, what's up?" his mother asked

Patton decided to just rip off the bandaid, a trick he had learned from his friend Virgil, "I'm gay" he said, head down toward the floor.

"Excuse me?" his father said with a mean tone of voice, that made Patton flinch.

"I-I said I'm gay, dad. I know that you guys aren't entirely supportive of that but it's who I am" Patton told them, trying his best to maintain a clear, steady voice.

His father started to chuckle while shaking his head, making Patton even more nervous "No. No, you aren't gay. This is just some delusion, it's like it's cool now to be gay. You just need to meet the right girl and you will be cured of this, I'm sure of it."

"This isn't delusional and I don't need to find the right girl. I-I met the right boy and I love him so much-" his rambling was cut short by his mom's small gasp and his dad raised his voice at him.

"No! I will not have some-some gay living in my house! Now you can either break up with that- that boyfriend of yours" he said the word 'boyfriend' with pure venom in his voice, then continued "and you can let us help you, or you can get the hell out of this house! We love you, son, we want to help you out of this and back into the light of god-"

"No dad, no. I'm so much happier with him and being myself, please let me show you that this is okay, that I am the same person that I was before you even knew I was gay, please.." he begged with a slight pleading in his voice.

It was deadly silent for a few moments as Patton looked back and forth between his parents, with tears in his eyes, while they just stared at him. "No. You have 5 minutes to pack your things and get out of this house!" his father shouted at him making him flinch. He desperately looked toward his mom hoping she would show any sympathy but all he saw was his mother looking toward the ground, when she looked up she shook her head at him. Patton took the hint and quickly went upstairs throwing the things that he would need into a bag. Tears were rapidly falling down his face.
