The next weeks were pretty relaxed. I chilled with Clay a lot. We hung out almost everyday and I still liked it as much as before. I liked it maybe even more. Now we knew each other for a little longer, I even felt more comfortable around him. He always sticked up for me against the bullies, he helped me when I needed him to and he never laughed at me when I stuttered. I liked him so much. As friends of course. We hadn't chilled for a few days because we had to study for a test and I was more than happy he was with me today.

We were both sitting on my bed playing Mario Kart. He already won five rounds and I just one. I never really played Mario Kart that much, so I was pretty bad. I was happy I beat him at one game. I laughed when he fell of the map and he pushed me softly.

'Don't laugh at me! You're 10th.'

'You're 18th.'

'But I fell, so technically you're worse.'

The game continued and he finished 15th. I finished 8th with meant I beat him this game. We started another game.

'I'm beating you,' I said.

'Yeah, sure. You said that 100 times now.'

'You only b-beat me 5 times and I beat you twice.'

'Well, it won't take long before it's 6.'

'Definitely not.'

'Proof it.'

We started racing and as soon as I realised I couldn't win, I stole his controller. He started laughing and wanted to take it back. I stood up and ran away, but because he was way faster, I fell onto the ground. He fell on top of me and tried getting the controller back. I laughed as he tried reaching it, but he couldn't get it.

'Who is small now?'

'Still you.'

'I'm average.'

'You're small.'

'You're just extremely tall.'

'Fair enough, but you're small.'

As soon as we both realised in what position we were, he stopped talking and stared at me. We stared at each other for a few minutes. I felt his heart beating extremely fast against my chest.

His hand slowly stroke my cheek and his face moved closer. I knew I was blushing like crazy, but I realised he was too. He closed his eyes and grabbed my hand. I felt his breath and I could hear my own heartbeat. I felt our lips very lightly touching and I wanted to kiss him, but suddenly my door opened. Clay quickly stood up.

'Eh-. Hello.'

My mum stood in the dooropening. 'Did I interrupt?'

'No eh- not at all.'

'Eh, no-,' I mumbled and stood up. 'W-why are you here?'

'I wanted to ask if Clay eats with us?'

He nodded. 'Yeah, sure.'

'I'll leave you two.'

'Yeah.'

She closed the door and I looked at Clay. His cheeks and ears were completely red. 'Eh- another game?'

'S-sure.'

We played for hours when Clay stood up.

'I have to call someone,' he smiled.

I nodded. 'Fine.'

I laid down on my bed, still not realising what really happened. Did he want to kiss me?

'Yo man, help,' I heard Clay saying. 'I have no idea what's going on. I feel weird. When I'm around someone. I just feel weird. My stomach like flips or something as soon as I look at them, I can't stop blushing. I want to be around them all the time. I don't know what it is, why I feel like this. I tried to kiss them and I have no idea why I did that. I just feel so different. No, I can't. That's not possible. No, it's just friendship I think. No, not that. I mean- because eh- it's not a girl. Dude, no. Yes, I liked it. I'm not gay. I don't know why I want to kiss him. Yes, I still want it. I feel so weird. In love? No, I'm straight. I think so. Yes, it's the same person as last time. Yeah, that. Don't laugh, idiot. Fine, thanks dude.'

Was I supposed to hear that?
