A/n: um... hey y'all ... anyways ...
"Why don't you come with me for a moment Miss y/n?"
Lucius reached out for my arm without a second thought, practically dragging me out of the room. I looked back at Draco for help—but it seemed he was just as afraid of his father as I was. He only stood there in shock, watching what was happening.
I didn't intentionally try to upset him. That was the last thing I wanted to do, truly.
Lucius' grip didn't release once we entered the hallway, it only tightened as he dragged me though the darkly lit corridors of the Malfoy Manor. I could only imagine the expression he had on his face.
Stumbling along behind him, I was too afraid to speak. The apprehension towards him when I first arrived was nothing compared to now. Quite the predicament, really.
The paintings on the walls moved by me in a blur as we continued on to our destination. Where exactly were we going? Well, it wasn't that hard to guess.
"I'll be in my study if you need me." he had said earlier.
His study was right down this hall—a few more steps and we would be alone together. I had no time at all to think about what I would say to him.
"You're being awfully annoying." he grimaced, closing the door behind him.
My estimation was correct about where we were going. I recognized the mahogany desk from my first day here—we were in his study. It was quite the pretty room, bookshelves lining the entire interior. I would've been appreciative if not for the situation I was in.
"I'm sorry?" I asked meekly, staring at my shoes. They seemed immensely interesting at the moment. Much more interesting than facing the man in front of me.
Lucius' cane echoed on the tile floor as he approached me. With each thud of the walking stick, a pang of anxiety shot right through my chest.
"I had much higher expectations for you, y/n." his tone was eerie. "I was surprised to find you flirting with my son."
My eyes frantically shot up to meet his.
"But Sir— I wasn't—"
"Yes, you were." he said, as if it were obvious. As if I should be agreeing with him.
Of course I knew in my mind that he was wrong, but saying any to spite him at the moment seemed incredibly scary.
"I didn't mean anything by it." my voice was quiet. No one else could hear me except Lucius.
Truthfully his expression scared me even more than his words. There was a hint of amusement in his face that confused me immeasurably. I thought he was mad? Was he not?
The amusement stayed present as he began to close the distance between us, easily towering over me. I had no choice but to allow myself to be backed up into his desk—trapped between it and the man in front of me.
"You know, I don't particularly believe you." he let out a dark laugh.
Lucius positioned his cane in between my legs, forcefully nudging them open. Feeling the pressure he applied I couldn't help but gasp. The cane felt cool against my bare legs; Thank Merlin I decided to wear a skirt today.
"I think that an apology is more than necessary, don't you?" he chastised.
An apology? For having fun with my friend?
I was having an internal battle on whether or not I should talk back to Lucius. I was terrified of him certainly, but at the same time.... shouldn't I stand up for myself?
