~I'm living with something that just isn't fair~
Ozzy Osbourne

(edited)

All my brothers were staring at me, speechless. It was obvious that no one knew what to answer me. Especially Chris, since he was the one I asked. He was eyeing everyone, expecting them to tell him how to get him out of the uncomfortable situation I had gotten him into.

"Um" he opened his mouth to answer me, but no sound came out. He didn't know what to say. He didn't know how to respond. He didn't know how to even treat his sister...

The atmosphere was too tense. I was feeling like I had just done the stupidest thing in my life. Would they punish me for that? Kick me? Punch me? Lock me in my room? Or even worse dive my head in the bath?! That was one of the things I hated the most; being unable to breathe due to water. It scares me like nothing else. Cause of my asthma, I always had difficulty breathing properly. My parents never cared to take me to the doctor or bring medicine for me to help me breathe better.

"Merda..." Cole sighed, taking a ship of his bitter coffee. (shit)

Dylan hit his fist on the wall and left the room, earning glares from the boys and a flinch from me "I knew she was a mistake" he mumbled as he rushed out of the room furious.

Aiden turned his head back to me and caressed my hair "Noah is a bodyguard, bambina. It must have had something to do about his work. Don't worry, there's nothing you should be scared about" he smiled softly and sat back up. I could tell I had fully believed him. He said those words like they were the only truth in a house full of lies. I slightly nodded and continued drinking my tea, without asking more. (baby girl)

The rest of my brothers sighed in relief when Aiden answered me instead of any of them, something I don't quite get. I mean, it seems reasonable for a bodyguard to get hurt during his job, why would they react like that? Are they hiding something from me? Are they lying to me? Why?

I snapped out of my thoughts by an arm poking my side, making me squeal and squirm. I saw Alex beside me smirking and he poked me again, I nearly fell off the chair, giggling. I am ticklish as hell and everyone knows that. Even Valeria is taking advantage of it sometimes...

"Okay you two, enough" Aiden smirked, stopping Alex for another poke "We have to take our princess on a tour of the movie room if I am correct" he said, earning a big, excited smile from me. I shot up from my seat and ran upstairs, to put my phone on charge before I came back for the movie, leaving the boys behind me chuckling.

As I was passing by Noah's office though, I heard some people talking behind the heavy door. I didn't want to eavesdrop but I couldn't stop myself. I was always curious about everything. That's how I discovered my parents' illegal activities. And trust me it wasn't the best experience. The bruises took two weeks to fade away from my eye and torso.

"Chris told her you are a bodyguard" I heard a guy saying. I assume it was Dylan, he had the same cold and deep voice.

"She shouldn't know the truth. Not until I say she can" I heard Noah reply in the same, cold voice he always had. Well, at least ever since I met him, which was... Only a few hours ago.

The blood in my veins turned cold. I felt my head turned upside down. All of my questions were answered. They were lying to me and they were hiding something from me. However, at the same time, more questions were born in my head. Why were they lying to me? What was their real job? Are they so dangerous? And most importantly why Noah had blood on him? Why did he even own a gun? Were they even my real family...?

I had stuck my head on the door, hearing them, talking about me. Like I wasn't even their blood. Not even mentioning my name. Jeez, I was their little sister. I was starting to think that they didn't want me there.
