beautiful or creative in the mind

i crumbled up the note and threw it straight in the trash. i was furious at her and what she had done. she couldn't even come to the damn hospital to see if i was okay and not dead.
a tear rolled down my cheek, but i quickly wiped it off.

i changed since i smelt like the hospital. i came back over into the kitchen to grab something to eat when i was finished.

i was in the living room watching tv when there was a knock on the door. i opened it slowly to reveal dally. "oh hey dally. come on in." i offered him, and he gladly took it.

"so what happened?" he asked looking around the apartment. "what do you mean?" i asked, even though i already knew what he was talking about. "last night." he said like i was dumb. "oh right. i slipped and hit my head on glass." he laughed when i told him that.
"the cops even bought it!" i said while he was laughing. he soon stopped laughing. "then what actually happened." he said in a serious tone.

"my mom was drunk and hit me with the beer bottle in the head." i told him straight up while looking at my nails. i looked up. "what the hell was up her pants?" he asked. "i don't know. she's been getting into drugs and drinking lately. i asked her what she was on and she got all butthurt and then the next things i know, i'm riding a pony." he was stunned with what i had to say. it was quiet for a moment.

"wait then where was she last night?" he asked, realizing she wasn't at the hospital. "at home, passed out on her bed." i said with a fake smile. he looked at me somewhat bewildered.

i never expected my mom to get like this. i mean she used to be such an innocent woman. always telling me to stay away from drugs and if someone asks if i want to try, to say no. now look at her.

it did hurt to say that. it was quiet for a little because we didn't know what to say. he decided to hang around for about an hour and then he went to go back to buck's, or wherever he was headed.

"remember, come to the curtis' house if you want or need to." he told me while walking out the door. i smiled at him and then shut the door as he walked down the hall.

i had nothing else to do for the rest of the day so i just sat in my room looking out the window thinking about multiple things in my head at once.

for once my dad wasn't going through my head. it was the damn socs. i had seen them around town and surprisingly none of them have gotten the idea to come up to me.

but i heard all the stories about them with us greasers. especially the story of johnny and the socs. that gives me chills every time i think about it.

then i started thinking about my mom. i remember when we went to the dingo for the first time together and we were having a grand time. now i got my own mom smashing a bottle on my head.

my mind was filled with so many negative thoughts, i needed to get out of the house.
a milkshake sounded good, so i started heading to the dingo. i arrived in the parking lot and walked in through the glass door.

i was seated at a table more in the middle section of the diner. i pulled out a book i had brought along and started reading it.

all of a sudden, a group of boys came walking in. they were dressed all nice and fancy from what i saw with the quick glance i gave them. i kept reading my book minding my own business.

the waitress came over and brought me my milkshake. i put the book down and had a little sip of it. i looked out the window and when i turned back there was a soc standing right over me.
