WHEN AMARA ARRIVED at the Hospital Wing, she still felt drained although not physically but mentally, and she just wanted to lie down. Of course, upon seeing the dishevelled brunette girl Madam Pomfrey ushered her into a cot and asked her to rest while she looked after the other patients

Scanning the room she notices three boys lounging around another cot, one of them had fallen asleep in one of the plastic chairs next to the cot that was holding a limp boy with his hand dangling off the bed and from what Amara could see he was asleep but  Madam Pomfrey walked over to them and the boy that was in the cot was woken up by the healer and the boy sleeping in the chair was woken up by one of the other boys

"C'mon Mr Lupin, we have to get you out of the castle now"

It was only then that Amara noticed that the boy was Remus Lupin and the three other boys were his friends, they were always together laughing and pulling pranks on people and they're less than desirable trait was bulling Slytherin's, especially Severus Snape but a few other Slytherins as well luckily they never touched Amara but she didn't know whether that was to do with her icy nature and not allowing anyone in or whether it was to do with Sirus

The two of them had a strange relationship

They had barely talked two sentences to each other since Sirius had got sorted into Gryffindor, on the advice of her parents but still, they looked out for each other in a way. It was Sirius who had started it in the Second Year when he had noticed Amara get upset over a comment someone said about her brother, that day she vowed to do two things: One, never get upset over anything ever again and two if she ever found Sirius upset to help in any way possible without saying a word because she hated being in someone's debt, no matter who it is

"What's she doing here?"

"How am I supposed to know?"

"Well, weren't you close to her once upon a time?"

"Yeah, like a billion years ago"

"Do you think she can hear us?"

Amara rolled her eyes at their whispered conversation, one thing was for sure the Marauders couldn't whisper to save their lives, but she plays along, it was better that than entertain them. She was sure if she did, it would end up being more annoying for her than for them

Flopping back onto the hospital cot, Amara closed her eyes and waited until the four boys had left the room along with Pomfrey and then she waited for a further five minutes but those five minutes seemed to stretch into a thousand until Madam Pomfrey appeared back at her bedside with a careful smile "Are you asleep Miss Hayes? I can always co--"

"No. Don't bother"

"Okay, Miss Hayes what can I do for you today?"

"Dunno, I just don't have the energy to do certain simple things like eat my meals and I just want to sleep all the time but when I do try and go to sleep I just can't and I space out a lot ... Is that normal or am I cripple as my mum says?" Amara asks, her eyes locking on with Madam Pomfrey for the first time since she has arrived and the brunette girl notices a knot in between her eyebrows and concern swirling behind her eyes

"Firsts things first you are not a cripple and I don't know where you're mother has got such a derogatory term from as it is not a phrase commonly used in the Wizarding World, where there are many terms that Wizards use to make others inferior I can't say I've ever come across that as its more commonly used in the muggle community to describe those who are less able" Pomfrey informs, a wave of swift anger swelling behind the concern in her eyes and Amara's eyebrows knit together, why would her mother use a muggle term of all phrases? She preached the ways of  a pureblood "Secondly, may I ask how long you have had these symptoms?"

That made Amara freeze up as she once again saw flashes of her brother's smashed skull against the tiled floor in the bathroom. Of course, she tried to snap herself out of it. It was three years ago why does the image still haunt her at night? Eventually, though she managed to push an answer through her closed up throat "Since Maxwell d-died"

It was embarrassing to be this open. First night back at Hogwarts and she was talking to the old healer about an event that she should have put behind her, much like her parents had but her answer seemed to have Pomfrey reeling for an answer as she had gone to collect a quill and parchment and began to jot down everything that Amara had told her.

When Pomfrey had finished, she looked up and didn't start talking until she knew that Amara was focusing "Okay so this is what I'm going to recommend and I expect you to follow it, Miss Hayes, no matter how trival it may seem. I will give you a Sleeping Draught for tonight and hopefully, it will allow you to sleep better and then I want you to come back to me any time you feel like you don't have enough energy to get through you're day or when your spacing out more frequently. I will inform your Professors of what I've told you to do and get Albus to send a letter to your parents. Honestly, child, I wished you had come to me sooner"

"Honestly I'm fine, I'm only here because Regulus was worried about me"

"As Mr Black should. Your health shouldn't be taken lightly"

"Why?" Amara asked, lifting an eyebrow "What's wrong with me?"

"I'm not sure yet, but when I find out, you'll be the first to know" Pomfrey admitted with a small smile that Amara assumed was supposed to leave her reassured but it only left her with guilt eating her insides and a sinking feeling in her stomach. She just wanted to get out of here and never return

"So ... Can I go?"

"Yes you should be able to, once I've brewed your Sleeping Draught but come back if you still find yourself unable to sleep," Madam Pomfrey tells her as if she knows of Amara's intentions to just run for the hills and never look back
