FIRST CHAPTERS
Cedric sends a letter to Hermione after the cup asking if she got back to the burrow okay and asking if everyone is alright. Seems genuinely concerned for her safety.

Hermione replies and then:

Cedric and Hermione send a series of letters back and forth over the summer. Ginny and the twins tease her for it.
Eventually Hermione asks ron to use pig but he says no. "Fine I'll just ask Percy to use Hermes. I bet he'll be a lot kinder than you!"
Hermione asks Percy and while she's in his room she helps him with his ministry report "honestly, did you not learn proper grammar?!" Percy allows her to use Hermes because she helped him "he'd better be back by tomorrow morning- I need to send my report to Mister Crouch soon.
