- Come on, this isn't fair. Come on, don't you have anything more serious to do? - Lucy was trying to talk to a police officer.

- Ma'am, your car is unsafe for the road and the people around you.

- Well I can fix it then, just give it back.

- You can get it back from the impound. Just go to the impound, pay the fine and you'll get your car back.

- I don't have money.

The police officer didn't say anything. A single tear rolled down Lucy's cheek as her car got towed away.

She walked back to the parking lot where other street racers were preparing to leave. She walked up to James, the main organizer, to ask for help.

- My car got impounded. - Lucy told him.

- Well that's not good. - James was about to leave.

- Could I maybe borrow one of your cars for some time?

- Yeah, um...No. - James got in his car.

- What do you mean?

- Lucy, you've been consistently missing entry payments, you drive like a maniac and I can't trust you anymore.

- Bro, I told you I would pay you back if I won today.

- But you didn't, so...Out. Once you pay me back I'll consider allowing you to race again.

James drove off and Lucy was left standing alone in the parking lot at night. She walked back to her garage and went to sleep.

When morning came, she was walking around town looking for ways to make some quick money. After she had explored all her opportunities she sat down on some stairs to think.

A familiar sound echoed behind Lucy.

The racetrack. - An idea sparked inside Lucy's head.

She ran to the racetrack entrance to find someone to talk to for an opportunity.

- That was great, see you tomorrow? - A man was talking to a younger man taking off his helmet.

- I have stuff to do tomorrow.

- Okay then, take care for now.

Lucy listened to the conversation and after the man was left alone, she decided to make a move:

- Hey. - Lucy was nervous.

- Hello? Can I help you?

- Umm, yeah. I heard you were looking for a racer and I'm here to offer my services.

- Who told you that?

Lucy didn't know how to answer. An awkward silence spread across the pit stop.

- Listen, - the man broke the silence, - I don't know who you are, but I don't think you fit our criteria.

- What do you mean? You didn't even give me the chance.

- We don't need another racer. - The man started walking away.

- I'll work for free.

The man stopped.

- Sounds too good to be true. Fine, I'll give you one lap to prove yourself.

- Cool, what car am I driving?

The man laughed.

- You're not driving a car, you're driving our simulator. Come on, follow me.

Lucy was a little disappointed, but she was prepared to show off her skills.

- Call me Marshall, by the way. Okay, let's go.

Lucy sat down and prepared to drive. This was her first time using a real simulator. She immediately got used to it and started feeling comfortable behind the wheel.

- That was umm, - Marshall leaned on the chair, - well to put it simply that was the slowest lap on the simulator. My nephew got a better lap time, and he's nine.

- This is just a simulator, get me on the real track and I'll show you what I can do.

Marshall invited Lucy to his office and told her to sit down. His room was covered in different pictures.

- Lucy, listen extremely closely. I'll take you into the team, but you have to realize that it's not because you're good.

Lucy was happy and sad at the same time, she didn't know what to do.

- Wait I need to ask you something. - Lucy risked and asked a question.

- Go ahead, but don't waste my time I'm going home in a few.

- Could I get lunch every day?

- Food here is free for every driver, so sure. Now go home, before I change my mind.

Lucy thanked him and went back to her garage to sleep.
