This is an AU of my main story at the moment. To the question of why am I writing an AU when I haven't gotten very far in the main story is.....I'm bored and I have no motivation nor solution for the problem of appearances of the main cast so yeah.

Dahlia hated the fact that she had been dropped into a filthy apartment when just a few moments earlier she was comfortable in her own bed at home. The apartment gave off the slimy feeling that drove tenants away but Dahila wasn't focused on that she was focused on the other 8 people in the room.

All but one was panicking, the man in a suit who wasn't panicking actually looked relieved. He was in a Beginner Instance, he would survive if nothing went wrong. He cast a glance at the tall woman in the corner and pegged her as a muscle head. He dismissed her and tried to figure out everyone else.

"I want to go home!"  A young girl in a school uniform yelled. She was well put together and held confidence in herself that seemed fitting. She cast her eyes around the room assessing everyone around her, she noted the calm man in the suit, the extremely tall woman who seemed unphased, and the middle-aged man with blonde hair and gold chains. There were other people in the room but these three stuck out to her the most.

She whirled on the man in the suit with a scowl on her face.

"You know what's going on don't you!" Her finger was pointed accusingly at him and the attention of everyone in the room fell on him. The man was startled. He never expected the youngest person in the group to accurately find the experienced person in the group. He of course didn't entertain the thought that he was just bad at acting and a teenager was adept at finding the weak link.

"W-what! No! How would I know what's going on!" His face was contorted into a bad attempt at being afraid and confused. The girl sneered.

"What horrible acting! Aren't you ashamed of yourself! Trying to fool a child! Your parents must be disappointed in such a weak-willed son!" Her insults directly pierced into the man's heart. The act fell quickly and he walked forward to loom over her.

"What are you going to do about it? Die? At least my parents will see me again." Dahlia was prepared to step forward and separate the two when the girl grinned maliciously.

"Huh, really weak-willed. What else to call a fool who spits out the important information." The group around them froze as the words the man spouted registered. Dahlia chose this moment to step forward and place herself between them.

"A death game is it? These kinds of novels have become increasingly popular recently." The girl happily hid behind Dahlia and smirked at the man in the suit from around her.

"What! I don't want to die!" A wail broke out from behind them. A young man in his early 20's with green eyes was gripping onto his hair and began to sob. The girl scrunched up her face at the adult breaking down in front of her.

"Think of it like this. You die here, you die in whatever accident the game has planned. Or you can survive and reap the benefits. Just one question. Are you okay with ghosts?" The girl spoke dismissively and looked up at Dahlia with hopeful eyes.

Dahlia had no problem with ghosts. In fact, she had seen them for a large portion of her life and was greatly desensitized to the gore. She looked down at the young girl holding onto her waist and reached out a hand to pat her head.

"Little monster." The grumble came out of the man in the suit's mouth and some of the others in the room nodded along.  The young girl prying information out of an adult and calmly adapting to the situation unnerved them.  If it were between humans and ghosts, they would pick the ghosts over humans. At least the ghost is honest about wanting to kill you.

Dahlia looked around the room and made a snap decision. Grabbing the young girl's wrist she spoke the first words they heard from her.

"Name?" The young girl blinked and then blushed a deep red. Dahlia's voice tickled her heart just the right way to make her question her attraction.

"Aline." The word was spoken weakly and Aline looked up into Dahlia's eyes asking for her name in return.

"Dahlia. How old?" Aline savored the name in her heart and was startled by the question. She seemed to finally notice what she was wearing. Her deep blush that had just started to disappear quickly came back.

"22" The people in the room were taken aback by the name coming out of the girl's mouth. In the stunned silence Dahlia nodded and walked over to the door before opening it. She walked through still holding onto Aline's wrist.

Aline quickly tried to defend the absurd age that came out.

"My sister wanted to see me in this! I blame her!"

The door shut behind them and the people in the room still stood around in stunned silence.

Pt. 2 might be out in a few days. This is short but I still need to build my writing stamina back up after almost a year of not writing something for my own pleasure.

If I forget remind me, thank you.

I hope you have a wonderful day! Don't forget to drink water and eat something.
