     TODAY WAS A WINDY, yet sunny day. all the girls except jenni arrived at work not saying anything to one another. meanwhile, jenni was on the bus wondering what the hell was talking so long. she had to be at work in less than ten minutes. "fuck this." jenni got off and ran to her job.

     once jenni arrived, she headed straight to her desk. maile and joanna began talking about her in the corner of her eye. suddenly, jenni looked up to see marcel holding flowers. she simply ignored him due to the fact that she believed those roses weren't for her. "hey, jenni."

"hey?" marcel glanced down at the flowers hinting that they were in fact, for her. "those are for me?" he nodded in approval. "really? why? i mean, i don't mean to be rude or anything. just curious."

"it was really hard talking to you yesterday but i figured i'd give it another shot."

"thank you for the kind gesture." in her opinion, flowers were basic, but he knew nothing about her so it was okay with her. taking a deep breath, marcel decided to be bold.

"can i get your number?" he exhaled and closed his eyes. this was a bit funny to her. "yeah, pass me your phone." without any hesitation, he quickly obeyed. she input her numbers as quick as possible. "how long will you be here?"

"till 2:25pm. my lunch is at 12pm to 1:30. i'll be here at my desk." he frowned. "i have a lot to do but i'll definitely be here." she chuckled. "marcel, do what you have to do. you have my phone number now."

"okay, i'll text you soon," she passed him his phone back and he stood there. "bye." he quickly walked away leaving maile and joanna confused.

"girl, what was that about!" vereena excitedly questioned. "you tell me because i honestly don't know either." "mhm, marcel likes you. but did you see those two just looking. don't look."

jenni slipped a quick glance at maile. joanna was glaring for some odd reason. "maile looks, unbothered yet interested. anyways, let's get to work. i gave him my number and he said he'll text me soon."

"he's probably lying." vereena joked. jenni fake laughed as she walked behind her. despite just talking to him and not knowing much about him, a part of her felt excited. it wasn't common for a boy to show any interest in her whatsoever.

       a few weeks ago, joanna labeled her as, 'the ugly friend'. not because of how she acted, but because of how 'uglier' she was than her and the rest of them.

maybe marcel really did like her. if that was the case, jenni was happy. she didn't feel butterflies in her stomach just yet——only because she hardly knew him.

as jenni worked, marcel was the only person on her mind. whenever she looked at the person she was talking to, she quickly lost focus and thought about marcel.

       finally, lunch arrived. luckily, there was a text from an unknown number.
