History Always Wins

Willow woke up and noticed the bed was empty and when she turned to look at the clock it was nearly noon. She jumped out of bed and threw on some yoga pants and a tank before rushing to Lauryn's room and finding it empty. Panicking she rushed to the kitchen where she found Ryn sitting on Luca's lap eating a bowl of fruit with Cassidy and Will. "Look who's finally up" Luca said smiling and Ryn jumped down and hugged her waist. "Hey lovely" she said kissing her daughter before she returned to finish her snack. "What do you wanna do today?" she asked Ryn. "Grandpa said we can play the piano" she grinned. Will pulled his steele from his pocket and motioned for Rae to sit in his seat "I figured you'd want this back" he said lifting her hair and replacing her and Jocelyn's telepathy rune.

They went back and forth for a moment and agreed to meet in the training room to take over for the trainee training portion for the morning; Lauryn was spending the day with Clary, Jace, Isabelle and Jonathan.

Willow and Jocelyn worked with Helen, Braden, Andre, Corey and Angela while Fin and Luca took the rest. First they worked on the balance beams and flips which seemed to go over well but hand to hand was a disaster. "They're so uncoordinated" Willow commented to Jay, Fin and Luca. "Sadly they're better than some we've seen" Luca shook his head. "Did you guys know that the tiny dark haired girl is only 16? She graduated early and I heard my dad and Jace say that she held her own against the advanced academy trainer during the assessment" Jocelyn gossiped but there was a scream that interrupted the conversation. Lana and Elsie were rolling around on the mat pulling hair and screaming insults at each other "what the hell are the two of you doing?" Jocelyn screamed when Fin and Luca pulled them apart. "She's delusional and attacked me!" Elsie whined turning up her nose. "I saw you kiss Zach just now skank!"

"Shut up! Everyone but you two clear the mat" Willow screamed and they complied. "The Circle is a family, my family. We're the best, we run head first into situations that would kill the average shadowhunter and we come out okay because we trust each other with our lives. Petty bullshit like that could make or break us; if you wanna fight about it knock yourselves out but once the fight is over, its over" Willow ranted. "If you don't trust her around your boyfriend you won't trust her with your life and that's something we can't afford. Now you will either leave it on the mat or go home" Willow threatened. "Time to spar first up is you two; until one can't continue" Luca called out. After training they showered changed and headed out to Takis with Will and Cassidy, they talked, laughed and ate like nothing had changed. "Since Willow is back now does that mean that after our two year engagement I can officially make you Mrs. Cartwright?" Fin asked kissing Jocelyn's cheek. "I thought you'd never ask!" she gushed. "Technically he asked two years ago Jay" Cass added and they all laughed. Willow's phone rang and she went pale listening to the voice on the other end "Try to keep her calm put her in a cool bath and call Magnus I'm coming" she panicked and sprinted for the institute with Luca on her heels. "What's wrong Rae!" he screamed running at her side. "It's Lauryn! It shouldn't be happening so soon" he didn't ask questions he just followed her back. When they returned Clary was taking Lauryn out of the tub, she was practically glowing orange, her skin was hot to the touch and she was panting. Willow grabbed her holding her tight to her chest "what's happening Rae" Luca screamed. "I can't reach Alec or Magnus" Isabelle cried returning to the room. "What was she doing before this happened?" Willow cried rocking Lauryn in her arms. "We were just at the park, she was playing then she fainted... What's happening Willow!" Clary cried. "The demon blood and the angel are clashing, I don't know why it happens and usually I can calm her down before it gets this bad, she could end up in a coma!" Willow said putting her in Luca's arms and pulling out her phone. "Melanie it's happening were in the New York Institute and it's bad, you're on speaker!" she screamed the moment she picked up. "Luca you need to summon your demon then hold her to your chest and chant anima resonare in her ear until the glowing stops. The access demon energy manifesting will gather in her throat, when it does suck it out. I'll be there as soon as I can" she said ending the call. "Anima Resonare" Luca chanted repeatedly clutching Lauryn to his chest. Her glowing slowly dimmed and his brightened, his runes were glowing a brilliant orange and his eyes black; Lauryn's eyes flew open and she clawed at her throat gasping for air. He grabbed her chin and inhaled deeply and she finally relaxed in his arms; Luca sat heaving trying to cope with access demon energy now coursing through him. "What the hell is happening!" Jocelyn screamed entering with Fin who immediately went to Luca's side. Willow passed Ryn to Jocelyn grabbed the front of Luca's shirt and kissed him deeply, his runes faded back to black and his breathing returned to normal. "Is Ryn okay?" he panted as his eyes returned to normal. "She's fine" Willow smiled retrieving her daughter from Jocelyn. "What happened you two scared the hell out of Cass" Will said flying into the room seeing the entire family there. "I'll explain after I get her dressed and put in bed" Willow whispered repeatedly kissing Lauryn's forehead. Luca and Rae stood in Lauryn's doorway watching her sleep, both Magnus and Melanie had come to check on her. "How often does that happen?" Luca asked pulling her into his arms, she was shaking. "It started when she was three, if she got really upset or she didn't burn off enough energy during the day that happened. It stopped for awhile but now every four months like clockwork it happens. It's only been two so something must have set her off" Willow exhaled loudly. Melanie said she would explain what happened to the others and Rae was thankful because the excitement had worn her out.
