It was really really awkward.
It was the most awkward dinner the Dupain Changs had ever had.
Seriously??? How is Marinette supposed to behave in front of her brother just after she had lashed out all her frustrations on him. She felt guilty too. She knew that all her shouts were not just from being hurt by her brother but also because of her overwhelming responsibility of being Ladybug.
She just took out her frustrations on her brother.

Marin could not even bring to see his sister. How could he??? He almost puked in guilt right then and there. He decided that once she cooled down he would go and apologise to her and explain himself. But one thing was nagging him. Buggie was never the one to complaint. She always hated attention and always wanted everyone to ignore her achievements instead of gushing about it. And when she lashed out at him, it was like she was venting her frustration on him. What exactly is she hiding from me???
Both brother and sister completed their dinner and went to their room without a word. Their parents frowned but said nothing because they knew how much ever both fight for silly reasons they love each other and would never give up on the other. Tom and Sabine smiled and went back to the bakery to bake their son's surprise birthday cake. Chocolate had always been his favourite so they decided to make one to surprise him sharp at 12.
Marinette knew beforehand that her parents were gonna surprise her brother. She knew she said she resented him but that didn't stop her from buying him the best gift which she knew he would love. He is after all my brother at the end.
She looked at the clock and saw that the time was already 11:58 so she took the present with her and met her parents outside Marin's room.
Marin was lying on his bed thinking of ways he could make up for his mistakes. He had honestly forgotten about his birthday when his room door opened with a slam.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIN!!!!"
Both his parents and Marinette were standing in front of him with a family size chocolate cake which made his mouth water.
