Bags under his eyes

Izuku's week has been better than it has been in a while; Kachaan hasn't bullied or sent his goons after him either. He couldn't help but feel happy that for once Kachaan seemed to ignore him. He still couldn't help but still feel a bit concerned for his old childhood friend. He noticed that Kachaan seemed jumpier than usual, had dark bags under his eyes, and what seemed to be scratch marks around his face like he was digging into his skull. The light in his eyes were duller than usual and when Izuku passed him in a Science test there wasn't one biting remark except for a quick glance. Plus, for a history presentation when the teacher turned off all the lights in the room to play a video on the development on quirks, Kachaan had let out a startled yelp and was then quiet for the whole video... he noticed his friend had gripped the desk so tightly the entire time the lights were out, and didn't once relax until the lights were flicked back on. He wasn't sure what to do... For his entire life Kachaan hadn't been afraid of anything. So, what had his friend on edge? Once the bell rang, Bakugo was the first out of his desk as he rushed toward the door. Izuku grabbed his bag and raced after his friend as he had done so many times in the past.

"Kachaan! Kachaan! Kachaan wait!" izuku yelled until he was finally able to grab his friends' arm. The minute he grabbed him Bakugo jerked back from his grasp and fell to the ground.

"U-uuh s-s-sorry!! T-t-that was-wasn't my intention!" Izuku apologized while reaching out to help his friend up

"GET BACK SHITTY DE-" Bakugo gasped and scooted back from Izuku. He stilled for a moment until he continued in a harsh but quieter tone "Don't touch me Midorya. And stay the HELL away from me." Bakugo barked out before grabbing his bag and running off

What? He called me Midoryia... not Deku or even Izuku. What is happening? Izuku thought to himself. He was now 110% concerned. Whatever was happening he would get to the bottom of it.

zzZZ Later that night ZZzz

Izuku laid on his pillow and stared at the ceiling. He was confused. So, with a deep breath he willed himself to sleep and hoped it would clear his head. The minute he closed his eyes and was ready to sleep a golden streak of dust danced beneath his eyes and he entered the world of dreams.

"Yume..." izuka whispered to himself as he turned around in his dream. He was at the oceanfront with sand beneath his feet and the sun in the sky. The temperature was just right with a light breeze and tropical trees providing shade alongside the beach. There were two hammocks directly to the left of him between the trees and in one was his sister in a floral beach dress, wearing sunglasses in her green hair, and seemingly to be invested in a book. She glanced up and seemed to have just noticed him as she smiled and got up to make her way over.

"Zu!" she giggled happily "Yume," Izuku whispered again as his thoughts fled to his friend, as usual he had nothing to hide in the land of dreams. Next thing he knew he threw himself at his older sister and started to wail. She immediately grabbed him tight; next thing he knew they were both in the hammock while it rocked, and she hummed and held him to her like a small child. After about ten minutes of crying he took gasping breaths and she leaned back and handed him a coconut out of nowhere to drink while she wiped his tears away.

"Izuku," she said caringly but sternly "what's wrong? Has somebody done this to you? Is it Bakugo?" her eyes flashed dangerously "Is he messing with you again?!"

"No... no its not Kachaan," izuku said waving his hands around... "I mean it is about him, but he hasn't done anything."

"I'm sorry Zu I'm not following." Yume said with a small pout while she tilted her head trying to grasp what on earth was wrong with her sweet little brother

"Kachaan... isn't being Kachaan. He hasn't bullied me all month! Which is great but I think there is something wrong. He looks... ill." Izuku whispered trying to convey his feelings to his sister.

Yume tilted back a bit while she grasped her brothers face looked into his eyes. "The fact he looks ill but isn't bullying you is bothering you." She deadpanned.

"W-well I mean, yes. It is."

"Why? He's done nothing but been a bully Zu. Why would you care, that's his problem not yours."

"Because he's my friend Yume."

"He hasn't been a friend to you since you were proclaimed quirkless."

"I-I k-know but I still c-care."

"Oh Zuzu... what am I going to do with you." Yume exclaimed while watching her dear brother with a sad expression. "You're too nice for your own good. I told you I would make him stop and I did." Yume said while she flashed him a smile "Maybe I went a tad overboard, but no one messes with you and gets away with it."

Izuku froze while he turned and stared at her. "You mean... y-y-you did this to him?" he whispered, "What did you do?"

Yume's expression turned a shade darker. "Nothing to concern yourself about, I have, and will always look after you Izuku. No matter from who or what."

For the first time in 14 years (almost 15 as he was to turn the next day) he wondered who she was and if Yume wasn't dangerous.

"Zuzu, please," Yume said noticing his expression, "Please don't look at me like that. I'm sorry okay? I'll make it right, please don't be mad."

"P-p-please s-s-stop hurting my friend." Izuku stuttered as he climbed out the hammock and backed away.

"Shit. Okay I will, I'm sorry. Look we're about to meet I don't want this to cause bad blood. I apologize, can you forgive me zuzu?" She asked taking a step closer

Izuku, against his better judgment nodded, his dream sister was the only constant support he's had these last 14 years. She made a mistake, everyone makes mistakes, right?? Right? "Okay, please just don't do something like that again without asking me. Exactly what did you do?"

"Hush little brother," Yume said while pulling Izuku into a hug. "Nothing to worry about I'll fix this," she said while golden dust started to flow around him, "Just forget this ever happened." Her voice was fading away and everything was getting blurry for Izuku. "This was just a dream. Yume has you brother, I'll always protect you... always. No matter what."

Everything went black

The next morning, Izuku woke up. For once in a long time he couldn't remember if Yume had visited him or not... He remembered being concerned about something... but what was it? Probably nothing of importance. With this thought, Izuku rolled over and went back to sleep.
