Five days had passed since the fight that ended Dony, his men and the reds for good. The four apprentices were to be congratulated for their work, they celebrated for four nights, but despite the days gone by, Byron's finger had not healed, now Genevieve and McGee were getting ready to be able to remove Byron's ring finger. The three were at the fence beside the headquarters, the same space where the four spent days training with their throwing knives against burlap sacks or afternoons where they listened to Byron singing and playing.

Byron was sitting in a box and extending his left arm in a higher one, his finger, exposed, was white and purple. Genevieve sharpened McGee's kukri while the giant boy went to get alcohol so he could heal the wound later. Jacob and his sister Evie were also present, near the entrance to the store, Jacob was leaning against the wall of the building with his arms crossed while Evie was behind his brother with a hand grabbing her waist, as usual. McGee was now passing by his master, bringing a bottle of pure rum with him, arriving with his colleagues Genevieve hands him the kukri, ready and sharp, and McGee gives her the bottle. Byron was preparing, trying to hide the fact that he was terrified but he couldn't, repeating. "Is it over?" He asked, with half-closed eyes.

"Almost, get ready." The girl runs to McGee's side so she can grab her friend's arm. "Shrink your fingers." Byron pulls his fingers back without hesitation.

"Very well..." McGee takes Kukri up to the finger, which he was holding, to be able to measure avoiding problems, then raises it very high and without hesitation cuts his finger in a first attempt, Byron screams when he begins to feel the pain of the cut bone, Genevieve claps and holds the bottle quickly, taking it to Byron's hand, opening it and pouring the liquid over the open wound, then holding a threaded needle, which was on the box, and starts to join the skin creating a stump on Byron's finger as he tapped the box with his other fist-shaped hand.

"Stay still, Byron."

"Then give me the rum." McGee did him a favour and Byron starts drinking next.

Meanwhile, Jacob, and his sister, who had witnessed what had happened shouted.

"Hi! You're a real killer now, Byron. "

"Ah, fuck it! I don't give a shit even if the Queen celebrates it! "

Jacob just laughs, his sister answers him.

"I have to admit, it was a good job. Your apprentices are apt killers. "

"Hmm." He looks at his sister. "Well, I told you I could do it."

"But that still doesn't justify the other things that happened."

"Well, believe what you want, Genevieve and Juliet explained to me why they had to attack that time."

"I'm not talking about that Jacob."

Jacob looks to his left and sees Wilfred waving in the background.

"Well, we'll talk later, now I'm busy. See you, little sister. " And Jacob walks over to his friend. The two leave, leaving Evie to look at them with a suspicious face. Jacob's sister had chosen to visit Frederic Aberline to find out more about Wilfred's family, so she had walked across the bridge to Scotland Yard. Entering the barracks, Evie came across the uproar, people asking for agents and asking for help. An agent approaches Evie.

"Are you looking for someone?"

"Yes, I want to speak to Sergeant Frederic Aberline."

"It is impossible now, he is busy." Evie sees a woman coming out of a compartment rather desolate, noticing Freddy behind her holding the door.
