Vent #88: The School Mode Events

I don't like them. There, I said it! It makes the character's feel so one sided. Example? Mondo Owada. His School Mode Events make him seem like an angry idiot who's just angry! Then we have Ishimaru's FTE that make his only personality trait studying! In the FTE the character's are fleshed out and feel more human. Taka isn't just a study machine, in fact he STATES he's not a study machine. He tries to be but he can't and he learns to loosen up a bit and socialize. He talks a lot about his theories and how he wants to learn more about people in his FTE. The School Mode Thing just makes him seem so invincable when he's not and i hate that! And in Mondo's FTE it's obvious he has issues but it's also obvious he wants to work on them. In his School Mode thing he's just angry and borderline abusive to Makoto. I don't like that.

I think Taka's SME should have been more focused on the fact that Ishimaru is curious and open to being corrected and that he loves learning and that he genuinely wants to help people out instead of just force everything onto them. Sure, he does that a bit in his FTE and in the game but when he is told that he shouldn't do that he stops and listens to the other person. And i felt like Mondo's SME should have been more focused on how much a dork he is. That's it. That's the vent.
