I awoke to my eyes meeting the ceiling. Drawing out a breath that could had easily been mistaken as a groan. Though who could blame me? Waking up incredibly early in the morning for school wasn't necessarily ideal. Nevertheless I shuffled out of bed and made my way to my closet.

I put on my Doc Martens and went over towards my vanity

I put on my Doc Martens and went over towards my vanity. I had to do something with my long brown hair that at the moment looks absolutely terrible if I do say so myself. I pulled out my brush and tried to tame my bedhead. Once I looked somewhat presentable I pushed myself up and grabbed my plain black bag. Taking one last glance at myself in the mirror before making my way downstairs and into the kitchen

My mom is currently on a business trip, but it's not like she isn't always on a business trip. I grabbed a granola bar and decided that was my breakfast. I ran out the door making sure not to be late for my bus stop.

The bus ride was like any other bus ride really. I sat alone, because well it's not like I actually had friends or some shit. I just gazed out the window while listening to my elite playlist.

Once the bus got to school I made my way to my locker, making sure to avoid contact with everyone. Once I got all the books I needed for first period I shuffled my way towards the class. I sat in the back per usual and waited for everyone else to arrive.

First and second period went by quickly and it was finally lunchtime. I usually sat alone, taking up an entire table to myself.

No one ever really noticed me, not until him.

"Hey"

I jerked my head upwards and pulled out one of my earbuds. No one ever talked to me. Why on Earth would they start now?

"Do you need something?" I spat.

"Wow, feisty" he chuckled to himself.

"Not at all. You just seemed lonely."

He's got to be joking.

"No, I'm fine" I said.

"Well do you mind if I sit?"

"Do what you please"

He pulled out a chair and sat his things on the table. I put my earbud back in and returned to my book. I could feel his gaze burning into me. What is with him? Why is he sitting with me? I huffed out a breath, sat my book down, and pulled out my earbuds.

I looked u and our eyes met. He was beautiful. He was... soft. He had dark brown hair that was shaggy but tamed. He had these piercing green eyes. He was wearing a black crew neck and he had his hands interlocked in front of him. He truly was handsome- incredibly handsome.

I was pulled away from studying him when he cleared his throat.

"What book are you reading?"

"Oh- the little prince" I said just loud enough for him to hear.

"I haven't read that one before. Is it worthwhile?"

"It's my favorite book I've read so far. This is my third time I'm reading it, I suppose you could say I'm attached" I smiled while meeting his gaze.

"You're quite the character" he stated, not breaking our eye contact.

"You can borrow my copy if you'd like" I said, ignoring his comment.

"I'd like that very much"

I slid my book across the table to him. When he went to grab the book I felt his fingers against mine. I shuddered at the innocent touch and snatched my hand away.

"Thank you so much. Until next time"

He gave a sight smile and stood up grabbing his things.

"Wait"

I looked back up to see him looking at me intently.

"I never caught your name"

"Fia"

"What a beautiful name you have, Fia"

I felt my cheeks heat up as he turned around to leave.

"I-I don't get to know yours?" I stuttered out.

He stopped and looked at me over his shoulder.

"Arlo"
