The rest of the day went by the same as always just for me to wake up and repeat my same morning routine as always.

I tied my hair up into a bun pulling out loose strands to frame my face. Taking a final glance in the mirror and heading out to school. I decided to walk to school this morning since I had the time.

I walked with my earbuds in listening to an audiobook.

I felt a hand touch my shoulder as I screamed and jerked around all while pulling out my earbuds.

"Woah calm down it's just me"

I met eyes with the one and only, Arlo.

"Geez, don't sneak up on me like that" I huffed out.

"Can I walk with you"

"Do as you wish"

We walked in awkward silence for quite a while.

Why won't he leave me alone? Why is he talking to me?

"Fia"

"Yes?" I said looking up at him and meeting his gaze.

"What are you afraid of"

What an odd person. Who just asks a question like that?

"Death"

"Death?" he said sounding rather confused.

"Yes, death"

"Why is that" he asked.

"Death is inevitable. I have no clue how or when I will die, but it's waiting for me with open arms. How could one possibly not be scared of the inevitable?"

"I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it."

"I open up to you and the best response I can get is a quote from Mark Twain?" I said rolling my eyes, while he just chuckled.

"Losing someone"

"Hmm" I questioned.

"It's my fear" he said keeping his gaze on the sidewalk.

"Why is that" I asked.

"Having someone by your side and then not. Whether it be because they left willingly or unwillingly, either way, they're gone. Loneliness scares me."

"All great and precious things are lonely." I said.

He chuckles and turns towards me.

"I open up to you and the best response I can get is a quote from John Steinbeck" He said with a smirk plastered over his face.

We continued in a comfortable silence until we arrived at school.

"Well, Fia" he said turning towards me.

"Well, Arlo" I said looking up into his eyes.

"Until we meet again" he said turning away from me.

I smiled to myself.
