"red lipstick?" aria questioned my choice of lipstick as she was doing my hair.
"too much?" I said as I looked over in the small mirror looking at her face.
she nodded and I put back the lipstick and picked out a simple lip gloss. it was our first date. me and Vinnie had been dating for two weeks ,and those were the best weeks. we were finally having our first date together, I mean the other times we hung out was either at my house watching movies or us hanging out with his friends also.
but today, today was just us. alone, at this restaurant vinnie had picked out.
"I'm literally shaking!" I said squealing, my ex before had our "first date" be at his ex's volleyball game? he said h e was still on good terms with her, which put up a massive red flag.
"so I'll drive you to the restaurant, and Vinnie would meet you there?" aria said as she was finalizing some makeup here and there.
I turned to face her and nodded with a smile,"it's this like really good chinese restaurant, and he said the sushi was immaculate"
"he said he picked it out because he remembered I had once mentioned I loved sushi" I said
"wow, just wow, a man who remembers small details? girl does he have like a brother or some shit?" aria said laughing
I let out a laugh and stood up grabbing my bag and grabbing anything I needed so I could leave, "ready?" aria asked
"yeah, let me just check on lucy" I made my way to see my little pomeranian sleeping on her dog bed.
"bye baby" I said whispering so I wouldnt disturb her. aria drove to the location vinnie had texted me yesterday, and we made it. it was a new restaurant, so it was quite packed.
"bye babe" I said smiling reaching over to he bag to grab my coat.
"bye! ey, have fun! text,call me or anything okay!" aria said as she waved bye and rolled up the window.
I waved back and entered the restaurant being immediately presented to a server, "reservation?"
"oh um yeah it's under vinnie hacker" I said smiling looking around, it smelled good and as I guessed, It was full of people, no wonder they took reservations.
"okay follow me, table for two over here" he walked me over to the booth and I took a seat.
"any drinks to start off?" the waiter had asked.
"oh, I'll take a medium sprite! I'll wait to order when my boyfriend gets here!"
oh I loved using the word boyfriend, I felt so powerful in some way.
I checked my phone to see any messages or texts from vinnie, and nothing. he probably wanted to surprise me when he got here!
it was 8 and I had like 40 minutes here already and I was halfway done with my sprite and I just ordered some sushi so I could wait for him, but still nothing. no show. I texted him and he didn't even see them. I wasn't gonna overreact so I just waited.
"sorry to disturb, but we'll be closing a tad earlier due to some storm along the way! you sure you don't want to have a to go order?" the waiter asked
I looked up and nodded and said thank you and asked for the tab, really really hoped what I was thinking didn't happen, but pretty sure it did.
I paid for the sushi and soda I had, and was leaving the restaurant when it started raining, great.
"c'mon aria pick up" I said to myself as the phone continued to ring until she finally picked up, "what's up?" aria asked.
"can you come pick me up?"
"oh um, sure let me just tell my mom I'm leaving-"
"I got stood up!" I said as a tear rolled down my cheek. It wasn't the first time, in 8th grade my crush had asked me out as a joke, but I was blindly in love to not notice. he asked me to meet up at froyo and he never showed up, I waited until the froyo place closed to leave. the next day at school everyone was laughing and so was he.
now he was the basketball captain, and he tried finally apologizing to me in sophomore year only so I could get my sister to go with him to the dance! but she ended up saying no, thank god.
I was under the entrance which prevented me getting wet from the rain until I saw someone pull up and then I saw another car pull up, one was arias, and another was one I didn't recognize.
someone immediately got out from it but I couldn't see who, until they got closer. it was troy in the driver's seat and Vinnie was heading towards me, but I didn't even look at him I just made my way to arias car.
"babe I'm sorry I just, I forgot! I admit it! I forgot, just please forgive me!" I turned around to see him, even though I was still getting wet under the rain.
"I'm too tired for this, you know how long I waited?" I said looking at him
I let out a chuckle, "let's talk tomorrow yeah? just, go home" I said entering arias car
vinnie walked towards arias car and stood outside the window, saying some words which looked like, "I love you"

"I love you too" I said under my breath
"I mean, I genuinely believe he could have forgot, maybe something got in the way!" I said as aria was removing the makeup off me
"girl you too in love, I mean look at you!you forgiving shit like that" aria said looking at me
I laughed. I was, I was too in love and I didn't know how or why.
