[Ice Age] Diego x Reader

Chapter 4. The dodo birds.

Y/n POV:

We had been traveling for a really long time and the bad thing about the trip was that the baby started crying. Nevertheless, we continued our journey until we got enough for the crying.

"Oh, you got to make it stop. I can't take it anymore!" Manny complained.

"I've eaten things that didn't complain as much!" Diego also complained.

"He won't stop squirming." Sid said and tried to hold the baby right.

"Sid! You're holding it wrong!" I said to him.

"Watch its head!" Manny yelled.

"Just put it down!" Me and Diego yelled at the same time.

"Jeez, pick him up, put him down..." Sid complained and put the baby to lie on a rock.

"Its nose is dry." Diego said and we all went closer to the baby.

"That means something's wrong with him." I told Sid so he could understand.

"Someone should lick it. Just in case." Diego said to us.

"Really, Diego?" I asked, mostly for myself.

"I'll do it!" Sid said and lifted the baby up.

"Hey, he's wearing one of those baby thingies." Manny explained and Sid stopped his 'licking' session quickly.

"So?" Sid asked with his tongue out of his mouth.

"So if he poops, where does it go?" Manny asked. Ooooh... Yuck!

Me and Diego did the disgusted faces and Sid rolled his tongue back to his mouth.

"Humans are disgusting." Sid said and lifted the baby up and hold him far away from himself.

"Indeed, Sid." I said.

"Okay, you, check for poop." Manny commanded and pointed Sid.

"Hey, why am I the poop checker?" Sid asked and quickly looked at me and Diego and then back to Manny.

"Because returning the runt was your idea. Because you're small and insignificant. And because I'll pummel you if you don't." Manny said and came closer to Sid's face.

"Why else?" Sid asked quietly.

"Now, Sid!" Manny yelled because he was really irritated and Sid started working with that baby thing immediately.

"Eww! Yuk! Eww! I mean, my goodness." Sid said and picked up that baby thing and continued,
"All right, look out, look out. Coming trough." at the same time when he said that he was spinning around and held that baby thing in his arms.

"Hey, watch out!" Manny yelled to Sid and dodged him. Then Sid started to come closer to me and Diego,

"Sid! Stop!" I shouted and pulled myself aside so much that I pressed into Diego.

"Stop waving that thing around!" Diego yelled.

"Ooh, ooh, I'm gonna slip." Sid said and walked backwards. He then 'stumbled' and threw that baby thing in the air and it flew straight between Manny's eyes. Manny quickly threw it away with his trunk. Then we heard Sid laugh.

"It's clean!" Sid laughed.

"Got ya!" Sid continued to laugh until Manny hit him in the head and this made the baby laugh.

"Will you cut it out?" Manny asked Sid while the baby laughed in Sid's lap.

Then the baby continued to cry.

"Hey, do that again. He likes it." Diego told Manny and Manny hit Sid again and it made the baby laugh again.

"It's making me feel better, too." Manny said happily.

"Here, you hold it." Sid said and handed the baby to Diego. But Diego just hit Sid on the head and the baby kept laughing. Then the baby started to slap Sid on the face.

The baby started crying again and Sid lowered him back to lie on the rock.

"Here, turn him towards me!" Diego said and put his front paws on the rock so that the baby was between them. Then Diego put his paw in front of his eyes,

"Where's the baby?" Diego started. Oh no...
"There he is!" Diego said and took his paw off his eyes. The baby stopped crying and just looked at him and was completely silent.
"Where's the baby?... There he is!" Diego said a second time but more powerful. The baby continued to cry.

"Diego, stop it! You're scaring him!" I said, and pushed Diego aside so that I am now in his former place. The baby continued to cry and the boys came closer to look. Then we heard how his stomach growled.

"I think he's hungry." I said and looked the boys.

"How 'bout some milk?" Manny asked.

"Ooh, I'd love some!" Sid said excitedly.

"Not you! The baby!" Diego said irritably and went close to Sid's face.

"Well, where are you going to get the milk?" Sid asked Diego and after a while Sid looked at me. Really?!

"Sid! Are you serious!?" Diego angrily asked Sid because he noticed how Sid looked at me.

"Well, it was just an idea! And I ain't exactly lactating right now, pal." Sid said back to Diego and crossed his arms.

"You're a little low on the food chain to be mouthing off, aren't-" Diego continued but I interrupted him as my nerves went away because the baby was crying in the background and those two little ones were arguing and Manny was doing nothing.

"Enough!" I shouted and all three looked at me and went silent, even the baby.

Then we heard a sound from a nearby bush and saw a watermelon,

"Food!" We all said in surprise and Manny went to reach for the melon. It was in his trunk and he was bringing it to us until we saw that one Dodo bird grabbed it and ran away. Of course we went to follow it.

"Right! More to the right! More to the right!" The Dodo birds shouted to each other and walked so that they were in a big stack on top of each other.

"Hey, look at that. Dinner and a show." Manny said and we looked at the birds.

"Left! Left! Left!" The birds shouted and then dropped off of the cliff.

"Oww... that might have hurt a little bit." I said.
