In the mighty town of Berk, there was a legend from the old Viking times that foretold of a group of brave warriors who would one day rise up and befriend a group of dragons. It is said that he who befriends the Night Fury shall share a soul with the dragons and be the destined leader of this fabled group, the ones known as Night Riders.
This legend had been passed down from father to son, and from mother to daughter for hundreds of years, ever since it had first been told by their Viking ancestors.
No one in the town of Berk believed the myth, but it was used as a brilliant bedtime story for most of the younger generations.
A group of 6 teenagers were a part of that group. 6 friends; Tuffnutt and Ruffnutt Thornton, Fishlegs Ingerman, Snotlout Jorgenson, Astrid Hofferson and Hiccup Haddock.
Their strange names were an ode to their Viking heritage, their ancestors believing that strange names were meant to ward off gnomes and trolls.
These 6 friends, although they didn't know it, were the fabled ones, the ones destined to be Night Riders.
