"What about this for the school dance flyers?" Flynn asks, passing me her computer. I look at the designs as the letters 'Julie, Y/n, and The Phantoms coming to you live!' cover the front of it. "Oh we're performing?" I ask her before looking at Julie. Julie looks up from her lunch confused before looking at Flynn's computer. "I doubt the boys have ever been to a school dance! It'll be fun." Flynn defends and smiles at us. "The boys will look adorable in some suits." I say, smiling softly. "You mean Luke." Julie retorts and laughs at me. I roll my eyes playfully and finish my lunch.
"The school dance?" Luke gives Julie a look. She grins at him as she waters her plants. "It's a way to get us discovered. Starting small to grow bigger." She explains to him. Reggie nods quickly. "I agree with her." He points at Julie. I give him an air fist bump making him grin at me. I smile before looking at Luke. He looks at me. I give him a pair of puppy dog eyes and add a pout. "Fine. If it'll help us." He gives in. I smile and wrap my arms around his neck from behind. He leans back into me and smiles softly. "Aw." Reggie smiles at us. I laugh softly before pulling away from Luke.
Alex appears just in time for us to start getting the boys ready for the dance. "Where have you been?" Luke asks, looking at him. "Hanging out with a new friend." He smiles before grabbing his bag of clothes. Reggie steps out from changing first, the suit actually looking very nice on him. "Yes!" Julie says quickly. I laugh softly and nod. "It's a yes from me too." I tell him, which makes him excited. Reggie always deserved positive recognition so I made sure to give it to him as much as possible. His home life before he died must not have been as great as people would think with his positive attitude. Alex walks out from changing and gives us a nice spin, placing his hands on his hips. Of course his suit had a floral design with a matching pink tie.
"Beautiful! Absolutely breathe taking." I say to him. He smiles at me and blushes. Alex was clearly gay. His parents didn't accept him but Julie and the band, including me, did. I want him to express himself as much as possible with his clothes and it makes me happy seeing him confident while doing it. "Your turn." I look at Luke. He looks down at the suit before walking to change into it. He steps out and places his hands into his pockets. The suit was black with hints of red in it. "It has sleeves." He says, pouting a bit. I laugh softly and walk over to him, moving my hands to make the bow tie straighter. He looks up at me as I do. "If the sleeves bother you so much, take off the blazer." I say, looking at him. He smiles a little and nods. I didn't know why this boy had a thing for no sleeves but the way his arms look, be my guest.
"Alright, we modeled for you guys. It's the girls turn." Alex says, sitting on the couch. Julie and I smile before walking off to change. We finish at the same exact time and walk out together, both of us acting like we're on a fashion show runway. Julie wore a simple flowery flowing dress that went to her knees. My dress matched Luke's suit more than I was trying to go for but I kind of liked it. "You guys look.. amazing!" Reggie says. I smile at him before curtsying. Luke walks over to take my hand and slowly spin me to look at my dress. "You're beautiful." Luke says which makes me blush like crazy. Alex checks the time before looking at us. "Willie isn't here yet. Do you guys mind coming to help me find him?" Alex asks Luke and Reggie. "Be at the dance before nine!" Julie tells them sternly before they nod. "Pinky promise." Luke says, holding his pinky out to me. I smile and wrap mine around his. The boys gather their things and disappear together. We finish our hair and makeup before going to the dance together.
It was in full swing by the time we got there. Flynn was DJing at the front before quickly waving at us. We smile and wave back. "I'll be back, I'm going to find Nick." Julie says and walks off through the crowd. I make my way to the drink table. "Y/n." Josh says from beside me. I look over at him and smile. "Hey." I give him a brief hug. "You look incredible. I'm not going to lie, I regret not asking you to this." He says. I smile a little and nod. "Would you like to dance?" He asks. I glance around to see if Luke or the boys have appeared yet. "Yeah, I have time for one dance before performing." I say and place my hand in his. He leads me over to the dance floor. I place my hand on his shoulder as we begin to dance. Couples around us dance together as well. I check the time and sigh quietly.
"Waiting for someone?" Josh asks, looking at me. I nod and look at him. "It's complicated." I say. He nods a little and we keep dancing. The clock hit nine and as soon as it did, I run off to find Julie. "No sign of them." I look around even more. "I know they're seriously not ditching us." Julie says, crossing her arms. I sigh and shake my head. Flynn announces us onto stage but without the boys, we couldn't perform. Julie walks onto stage giving everyone the bad news we wouldn't be playing. The crowd boos.
"Wow. Surprise. Julie's choking." Carrie says, crossing her arms. She makes her way onto the stage and yanks the microphone from Flynn. "Party at my place!" She says into it which makes everyone cheer before dispersing out of the gym. Julie slowly walks over to me. "It's fine. It's fine, right?"
