Practice writing out emotions, feelings, and reactions. Practice describing that old chair in your living room. A talented writer should know how to describe everything creatively, even if it's the most boring thing. The only way to do this is through practice. 

1. Example, Describe that old grey curtains? What do they look like? What do they remind you of? Where are they located? 

2. However, nobody likes too much description, too many descriptions can slow down a story and make it boring. There a spot in between that's just the perfect point. Paint a realistic picture in the reader's mind.
