Chapter 31

Once Nick was asleep she slipped downstairs where she knew Willow was still up. 

"That was entertaining."

Willow said as she sat down next to her. 

"Im sure it was. Girl its been two hours and my legs are still shaking. Its always been good but never that good. "

Beth laughed taking a sip of Willows coffee. 

"So my decorations came in handy?"

She asked with a chuckle. 

"A few of them , yes. "

They sat there watching supernatural for awhile before Willow looked over at her. 

"I really like him best friend. Hes unfazed by our shenanigans and the way he looks at you is incredible. That man loves you, even if he hasnt said it yet. I can see yall together for the rest of your lives."

Beth laughed and shook her head. 

"Seth looked at me like that at one point too. Lets not talk about long term just yet."

Willow shook her head and continued to stare at her. 

"Not like Nick does Beth. He literally looks at you like you are his world. It warms my cold black heart to see it. Plus Caleb likes him too. Hes not gonna tell you that but he told me. "

Beth smiled and turned back to watch the tv.

Over the next few months Beth and Nick got closer. The world still didnt know about them being together and they tried really hard to keep it that way. Everyone knew in AEW and their families of course but they hadn't gone public. The bucks were still champs and Beth still held her spot as women's world champ. Life was going great until one Wednesday morning before dynamite she opened her twitter and a news story hit her feed. 

"Breaking News, Becky Lynch is pregnant. The wwe superstar announced earlier today that her and fiancee Seth Rollins were expecting a child together. Congratulations are in order."

She almost dropped the phone. Mox and Matt were sitting at the other side of the table and Nick was sitting next to her.

"Uh Beth you just went very pale are you okay?"

Mox asked as he noticed the change in her automatically. Nick looked over at her and she was still just staring at the phone, mouth wide open. Mox leaned over and snatched the phone out of her hand. He read the headline and looked back at her with sad eyes.

"Bethy…. I….this…"

He couldn't find the words to comfort her. She grabbed the phone back and excused herself. She hurried out of the catering hall and right into Cody who was walking thru the door.

"Jeez Beth wheres the fire? "

He asked before he saw her face. 

"Oh shit whats wrong?"

At that moment Nick , Matt and Mox were hurrying after her. She said nothing and shoved past him. 

"What the fuck is going on?"

Cody asked the others. 

"Well Becky Lynch is pregnant."

Mox explained. 

Cody's face fell and he turned around to stare after Beth. 

"Oh shit. That explains why shes upset."

Nick and Matt looked between themselves and back at the other two.

"Okay im lost , yes i get the whole being upset because she used to be married to Seth and he left her for Becky but theres got to be something more there. They were together for like eight years. Why didn't they have kids? Why is she so upset?"

Matt asked honestly lost. 

"I dont know if this is my business to tell you but the truth is Beth can't have kids , they tried for many years and she either couldn't conceive or she miscarried on multiple occasions. This im sure feels like a slap to the face."

Mox explained sadly. Cody hadn't even known about her miscarriages. He knew she was told she couldnt have kids but he had no idea about her loss. 

"I should go find her. "

Nick began to walk away but Mox grabbed his arm.

"Id just leave her alone for awhile. Shes gonna take this really hard. When she needs you she will let you know. "

He had an internal battle with himself on if he should go after her , he heard what Mox said but chose to go after her anyway. 

She made her way to her dressing room and called Willow.

"I just saw. Are you okay?"

Willow asked as soon as she answered the phone. 

"I feel numb Willow. I don't know how to feel. I want to be happy for them , for her. Shes living the life i was meant to have. The life ill never have. All i want in life is to be a mother. But it will never happen for me. I have this really great guy who im in love with and i haven't even told him i can't have kids. Hes a family man Willow. He wanted kids with his ex and here i am stringing him along to have his dreams crushed too. I should have just remained single forever. Im not good enough for him. I cant even do the one thing im supposed to do as a female. Im broken " 

She poured her heart out. 

"Beth first of all thats the first time ive heard you say you loved Nick. Second of all there is nothing wrong with you. Just because you cant have kids doesn't make you any less of a woman. Im sure Nick will understand. You could always adopt. Hell ill carry a baby for you. "

Willow was yelling on the other end at this point. 

"I know , i know. Lord im such a fucking child. I don't understand why he likes me Willow. I really don't. He's so perfect and im a damn mess."

She could hear Willow take a deep breath on the other end. 

"Heartbreak does that Bethy. Anyone who doesn't understand that can kick rocks. You aren't acting like a child. You are acting like someone who has been destroyed. Its normal. "

Beth thanked her for talking to her and then hung up.

"Beth , I love you. "

She spun around and there was Nick standing in the door way. He had been listening to her talk to Willow.

"I don't want you to say it because you feel sorry for me Nick. "

She sighed and put her phone back in her pocket.

"I dont feel sorry for you Beth. I love you. Today , tomorrow , forever. I don't think you are broken. I don't think you are any less of an amazing woman just because you can't have kids. You aren't stringing me along. I want to be here. With you. Do you want to know why i love you. "

She nodded as he continued.

"I love you because you are strong. You have had so much shit thrown your way in life and you always manage to hold your head high and get thru it. I love the way you look at me. The way you make me feel alive. This all sounds corny i know but i need to say it. I was lost before i found you and then god put you in my life . We both needed someone to make us feel whole again and im so fucking lucky i got you. I can't see my life without you. I love you."

He pulled her into his arms and held her tight. Tears were streaming down her face as she let his words wash over her. 

"I love you too. "

She whispered just before he kissed her.
