Chapter 35.

"So we heard you had an interaction with Seth recently. How'd that go?"

Beth looked over at her sister and shook her head.

"Bizarre. He told me i looked good and looked happy. Then Nick and Mox came to save me. How did y'all know anyway?"

She asked confused. 

"I have my sources. "

Jay said as he grinned.

"Fucking mox talks to every one of y'all more than he talks to me. Jesus."

They all got a kick out of that.

"Mox is the second son i never wanted."

Penny added with a snicker.

"Imma tell him too."

"So hows Cody's dumb ass? I still can't believe you went to work for him. "

Ashlynn asked with a look of disbelief.

She looked at Nick and then at the ground.

"Id rather not talk about Cody right now. Hes a fucking douche bag and thats the end of the story. "

One thing her family was good at was understanding when not to press a matter.
Beth began to play with the kids and when she looked up Nick and Jay were gone. 

"Beth Ive got to say Nick is a fucking dream boat. Im jealous."

Ashlynn stated as she walked over to where they were playing some stupid kids game.

"The way he looks at you is intense. Like you are the only person on earth. Are you sure you aren't getting in over your head?"

Penny chimned in from her seat.

"Nick is amazing. Im still waiting to find a flaw in him. It will be a miracle if i don't find one. Speaking of him where the hell did they go? That makes me nervous. "

She looked around but they were not outside.

"Jays probably showing him the music room. Hes just happy theres another guy around. "

About an hour later they walked out of the house in full conversation. 

Nick leaned down and kissed Beths forehead as they came back to the party. 

"I thought you had tied him up in the basement."

She joked as Jay sat down. 

"No ill leave that kinky stuff to you , you sicko."

They watched Cadden open presents and then had cake. In true fashion Jay and Penny both were wearing cake at the end of it all. 

"I don't think they will ever grow up. "

Ashlynn groaned as she watched them both smearing cake into their faces.

"What were you and Jay doing inside for so long?"

Beth asked once her and Nick were alone. 

"He was showing me all his music stuff. I can't believe hes a music producer. Thats so cool. He played some stuff for me too. Hes awesome."

He was super excited. 

"Im glad you are getting along with my family. They are for the most part behaving themselves"

At that moment Jay came running out of nowhere with a stack of photo albums. 

"Who wants to see Beth dressed up like a tulip for her 3rd grade play?"
