3. Royalty

After Axel was done introducing himself, he sat at the desk next to me. The teacher announced that today's class was a free period.

As soon as that happens Ekon gets up from his chair, walks over to me, and slams his hand on my desk. He did it so suddenly it made me jump.

"Looks like you're here today, Diamond." He smirks.

Ekon has short brown hair with eyes as green as emeralds and a semi muscular build. He was tall, but not as tall as Axel. He had an even skin tone with a sharp jaw.

"Leave me alone." I look at him directly into his emerald eyes as if I am directly challenging him for his rank.

"Are you challenging me?" He gets close to my face.

"No, I'm insulting you. But there isn't much of a difference." Ekon glares at me.

"Do you know what personal space is?" Axel says as he glares at Ekon.

"And who are you?" Ekon walks in front of Axel's desk.

"Were you not listening while I was introducing myself..." Axel gets up from his seat and stands directly in front of Ekon.

"...or do you have a hearing problem?" Axel is close enough for Ekon to have to look up at him. Ekon clenches his teeth and tightens his fist.

"What did you just say?"

The teacher interrupts them before anything else can happen. She tells both of them to settle their problem later and go back to their seats.

They both sit down in their seats but the tension was still there.

"Is it true?" I look at Axel in confusion.

"Is what true?"

"That you weren't here yesterday."

"I wasn't feeling well."

Axel narrows his eyes at me. It's not like I'm lying. I'm just not telling the full truth.

"That's not the full truth." I look at him.

"How do you figure out these things?" He chuckles.

"I'm good at guessing." I roll my eyes.

"So, what's with Ekon? Does he always bully you? If he always bothers you I can always challenge him." I sigh.

The school bell rings and I quickly get up from my seat. Axel follows behind me and I walk out with him.

"You can't challenge Ekon." Axel looked confused again.

"Why not?" I sigh. Before I said anything, I saw a group of royalty with Eleanor being the leader and I started to panic.

"Let's go the other way."

We turn around and see Ekon with other royalty.

"On the count of three, we make a run for it." Axel looks at me and nods.

"One... two... three!" I sprint in the direction of Eleanor and she spots us.

"You're not getting away this time!" We turn the corner and Eleanor is still following behind us. I notice the music room and pull out the key.

I frantically unlock the room and shoved Axel into it.

While we were in there we could hear footsteps near the door so we had to hold our breath. After a few minutes, Axel said they were gone.

I breathe out and flip the light switch to turn on the lights.

"You have the keys to the music room?" Axel explores the room.
