It was late at evening when Arnav returned home with yet another failure visit to Lakshmi Nagar. After about half an hour he heard a knock at his door .Lavanya entered the room with two coffee mugs,
ASR ,can we talk?
"yah sure, come " Arnav said showing the recliner and he himself took the bed. Lavanya offered him the coffee she brought with her."
"Your coffee tastes better now" Arnav commented after sipping coffee,
"yah, learnt from Khushi" not again thought Arnav, she wont leave him even here...?
"hmm" what else can he say.
""ASR I want to talk to you " she don't know how to start the conversation, but she has to... their future is on line.
"Tell me La"
"Where do you find yourself after 10 years ASR?"
"What?"
"Please answer me"
"Okay "Thinking for sometime he said" AR as the best brand in International market and a happy family with DI's children, Nani telling stories to di and Akash children, scaring them with my name "he was chucking while saying that.
Lavanya heaved a sigh, He doesn't think of them .He doesn't see himself having a family with her. Slight doubt she had has been removed. They are not made for each other. she couldn't help but to admit may be her answer too may not have the family quotient with him if she is asked the same question. But she will make sure her decision doesn't make her regret later.so she asked
"What about us ASR"?
Arnav who was imagining his di smiling and playing with kids was rudely awaken with Lavanya question. He doesn't know what to answer. The image of him having a family is there, but how will he say her that the girl he see with whom having a family is not her, but her friend? He found it absurd, How could he think that cheap middle class girl in that light and that thought itself was disturbing him to no end. How could she manage to bring such thoughts in him . He scorned that she without even trying, being a part of his life when thoughts about future doesn't have a single image of his so called girlfriend. He doesn't know how to answer her question. If he says the truth it will hurt her and if he lies then it will be a lie to him.
Arnav kept the coffee mug at the table and rubbed his face with his hands .He decided to be truthful.He can't lead her more when he doesn't want this marriage at the first place. when all his dreams are about a certain girl who is avoiding him now, whom his heart thrives to at least have a glimpse of. It is not fair to Lavanaya. He had already done so much damage that may be this is the moment he can correct it. He can't lead on Lavanya giving promises of a happy married life when he himself knows there will be anything but happiness.
"I don't know LA. I wish I can, but sadly I don't. I really care for you La. All I wish is your happiness but if you ask me if it's with me, the answer is no. That day Nani's guest where mocking you I took the decision to get married to you and end the drama because I couldn't let anybody insult you. You are a true friend and my well wisher but I can't imagine us as husband and wife. I like you and love you but not as my life partner or in any romantic manner. I Know I am being unfair to you but I couldn't help it but to worry when I will do something that will push you to hate me. I don't trust myself to keep you happy"
"No ASR, please don't feel guilty .If you ask me the same my answer may be same"

Knowing the beauty of relationships, learnt cooking to the point where I could impress the GREAT ASR with my coffee,(she said while laughing).so you are not guilty of leading me on. Yes I won't lie , I started dreaming of a married life but now when I think of it, if I dreamed that with you I don't have an answer."
"I am sorry Lavanya"
"As I said you don't have to .It's good that things ended up like this. If I must Truly admit to ourselves we will be horrible as a couple. I really can't manage your anger and you are terrible at managing my tantrums. At least this way our friendship is not harmed .I can still come to your family if things become horrible for me and need a place to go."
"I may be a terrible boyfriend Lavanya but I promise to be your true friend. Never think twice if you need a friend or like you said a place. you are always welcome here."
"So now what? We have to tell the family about our decision. we can't hide it and let them make preparations for our engagement which is never going to happen"
"I will talk to nani tomorrow"
"No ASR, we will tell them together. It's our decision to break up so let's tell them together"
Arnav nodded his head
"We will talk to them after breakfast"
"I would like to go back to London, so can you transfer me to our London office"
"You don't have to Lavanya"
"I have to. It's been long I was away from my family.Staying with your family and being a friend to Khushi had taught me what I was missing in my life. I want to spend some time with them before I actually find my soulmate .Moreover dad is managing his business alone, I wish to help him with that. Yah; not immediately after I leave but I will do that gradually."
"Ok, shall I book your tickets. when do you wish to go? "
"At the earliest"
"Ok, I will book the ticket.
Lavanya said' thank you' and 'good night' and left to her room. Yes she is sad but that's definitely not because she couldn't marry ASR, it's just that she will miss everybody here.
Arnav sat in the same position for more time. He was happy things ended at a good note .He knows his family will be unhappy and will be angry but he could not just pretend anymore and give Lavanya hope when all his mind is filled with the images of a girl who looked at him with tears in her eyes when he shamelessly said he want to marry Lavanya after almost kissing her. To hide his weakness he hid behind Lavanya .Now he doesn't have to feel guilty of having unknown feeling for a girl who he Swear to loath while being in relation with other.
Arnav said his family that he wants to talk to them after breakfast.so all his family assembled at leaving room.
He looked at Lavanya who was sitting next to him and nodded
"Nani, me and Lavanya don't want to continue with this relationship .we decided to breakup .she wish to go back London" Arnav completed all he wanted to say in a breath and waited for the explosion that he definitely know to happen.
"What are you saying chotte? How could you decide something absurd like this? Nani couldn't help but to express her displeasure which her other family members couldn't because of the shock Arnav gave them.
"Nani we wouldn't be happy with each other. We don't find a future for this relationship."
"You should have thought about all these before bringing Lavanya Bitiya and announcing about your engagement "
"I know nani but..."
"Lavanya bitiya, you tell me. He forced you for this ,didn't he? I should have known. Chotte and his ways"
"No nani, WE took the decision together. we are friends and we thought we will work it out together but realized if we carry on with this relationship then we both will suffer"
"But then why did he brought you here?"
"Please don't say me you regret having me here. To be frank I enjoyed staying here. I was always alone in a big home in London left with a Nany during my childhood .I don't even remember spending time with my grandparents. But here I got you all. I know I have been not at my best behavior at first but later I started enjoying. All thanks to khushi and you all. You started calling me Lavanya bitiya than miss.Kashyap .So all I did is gain so many relationship and I lost nothing including ASR's friendship.so Please don't be angry."
Nani could only nod. All she wants is her grandson to be happy and if he is saying he won't be happy with Lavanya then how can she compel him.
Lavanya left to London at Night the same day. Khushi had come and helped her in packing when she came to know about Lavanya's decision. she firmly believed that Arnav is thereason for this. He would have done something which must have hurt Lavanya and made her take this decision. When she came to santhivan she made sure Arnav was not at home. She feared she will do or say something .She is not ready for any more nasty games.
Arnav sat at his poolside after dropping Lavanya at Airport .He knew that khushi had come to RM . He had missed an opportunity to see her. Why the hell does he have this thrive to see her, hear her even if it is to scold him or fight with him? Why was he missing her and not Lavanya whom he know even before he met Khushi and was in a relationship with? He just wanted a glimpse of her, just to see she was okay. Does she miss him too? He wanted to know.
He took the car keys and went to Lakshmi Nager. Parked his car across the road from her home in dark .He saw a baby pink salwar clad figure assembling something talking to Payal and Buaji with all smile.A sight he longed for.
