they backed her up. everyone chose to skip after that, since there was no obvious impostor and only one body. she and corpse stayed together for most of the next few rounds, vouching for each other at every meeting. before they knew it, only seven were left.

soon, the chorus of goodbyes blended together in a cacophony of noise. celeste could still hear corpse's farewell clearly in her headset, however. maybe it was the difference in the octave of his voice or just the fact that she wanted to hear him. either way, it brought an obnoxious grin to her face.
