7 - i'm nervous

Robert: hi sweetheart :-)

Me: hey Robert :-)

Robert: watcha doinnn?

Me: eating some Doritos nom nom

Robert: well you seem to be in a good mood lol

Me: yeah it's a good day :-)

Robert: why is it a good day sweetheart?

Me: my dad is home :)

Robert: where was he? :)

Me: out

Robert: Okay well that's cool! Have you been home alone or something? I'm sorry, I'm confused

Me: yeah I've been by myself for about a week

Robert: What? Do you have siblings or something??

Me: I have one brother but he's older, like married and in another state

Robert: oh what's his name?

Me: Jake

Robert: I see your parents like names with a J lol

Me: yeah

Robert: so where's your mom?

Me: how's your day been?

Robert: uh it's been pretty good, excited for our show tonight lol

Me: what show?

Robert: idk

Me: ok..

Robert: I wish you knew

Me: knew what?

Robert: ughhhhhhhhhh Jordan

Robert: I need to tell you something

Me: so tell me

Robert: could I call you and tell you over the phone?

Me: no

Robert: why not?

Me: I'm not good at talking, please don't make me do it Robert

Robert: I won't make you do anything sweetheart, all you'll have to do is listen

Me: :(

Robert: don't be scared, I promise I'm just as nervous

Me: ok

Robert: ok don't laugh if I say something stupid

I stare at my phone for a few minutes. I don't understand why Robert has to call me. I wanted to talk to him worry-free, but now I can't. I know he says he's awkward too, but apparently he isn't if he's about to call me.

And what could be so important that he just can't tell me over text?

My phone starts to go off, making me more anxious. I answer it and put it against my ear.

"Hello."

My eyebrows furrow at his voice. I knew he was Australlian, but I never knew his voice would sound so deep. He laughs and it's comforting, it actually relaxes me a lot.

"Hey," I squeak and bite my lip when my voice comes out shaky. Why did I open my mouth? And why am I so nervous?

"Jordan, I need to tell you something. Don't hang up, please," He begs.
