EDIT X

Ava

The whole room was pin drop silent, everyone watching as the scene unfolds, confusion and shock clear on everyone's face expect the four culprits who orchestrated the whole story, they just looked scared. Which is honestly a first for me.

"Hello father, mother, sisters, random people I have never met," I greet everyone in the room, walking towards the front of the room where the four stood, Kai following closely behind. I notice David and my sisters staring at Kai, once again looking shocked and confused.

"Ava?! What are you doing- I mean you're here?" David changes his attitude fast, noticing the audience, but I don't bother responding, just walking straight for the casket.

"Now this is what I'm really interested about, who hell is in here?" I point at the casket, looking for the way to open it, "oh, it's empty..." I comment, pulling the top open to revel absolutely nothing inside.

"Ava?" I hear my mum call, slowly walking towards me, only for me to take a few steps back, causing her to pause and look down disappointedly with a sad look. I'm sorry.

David clears his throat and turns to the audience, "I'd like to thank you all for coming, but there's clearly been a misunderstanding that needs clearing and we would really appreciate the privacy," the people slowly stand up, narrowing their eyes and whispering amongst themselves about the family.

Once the room clears, David turns to me with glare, "what are you doing here?!" He raged, with clenched teeth, causing me slightly flinch. Damn it.

Before I could response, Kai stands in front of me, "be careful with your worlds, Mr Smith. Don't want to say anything you may come to regret," Kai warns, I'm sure he has his business face, which is honestly very scary.

David instantly fixes his face and stands up right, "Mr Frazier, what-what are you doing here?" He doesn't stop and continues embarrassing himself, "I'm sorry you came all the way here to support us and have to see this, but this is a private matter-"

Kai scoffs, "support you? I'm afraid there's been a 'misunderstanding'. I came here with Ava, my girlfriend and I'm not going anywhere," damn why'd he have to say this now...?

I hide my face behind Kai, avoiding the shocked expressions and assumptions they're probably making in their heads. Here we go.

"Girlfriend?!" I hear one of my sisters squeal, the other one gasping.

I try to steer the conversation away, "anyways! Can we go back to the main topic here? Great! So can anyone explain to me, what the hell is going on?" None of this in particular is making sense, why did they do this?

David stares between Kai and I, clearly trying to figure out who to say this, "we-we thought something happened to you, you suddenly left and the police said at this point we might as-well give up,"

I nod, "cool story, did you not get the memo though? I wrote it out pretty big, right down the dining table. So, the truth, please," they have money, could continue the search for years if they wanted to and they must have used their connections to figure what where I was. Also, I'm sure a sign that says 'later suckers' definitely suggest I went away willingly.

David sighs, clenching his jaw, but before he could make up another lie, Kai speaks up, "just to let you know Mr Smith, I am aware of the truth, so make sure the next words out of your mouth is the actual truth,"

David clears his throat, looking away from Kai to glare at his side, clearly unhappy with Kai involvement but to scared to say anything, hmm I wonder why...?
