Review: The author writes using the Authorial Intrusion literary device throughout the story. I found it very unusual that the author would write like they were talking directly to the reader. The story follows a young girl abused by her step mother. She takes to stealing even though her family has plenty of money. She finds the pirate life she feels she was made for with her pirate uncle. Spelling/grammar/vocabulary/word choice was done very well. The MC's character development was interesting to read how this abused girl develop into a strong woman and pirate.
