"As Time Goes By"

JEONGYEON's POV

I'm at the hospital today for my check up. "Jeongyeon, there's someone who wants to talk to you," Nayeon Unnie told me.

I looked at the door when it opened and it revealed a person I never expected to see.

"Hey," Jeonghan called me.

I looked away. This is so awkward if only he knew.

I went to have my check up but Nayeon Unnie will have a friendly date with Kai later. They're going to talk about something she doesn't want to tell me and I respect that. Besides, she's a gossip queen with a lot of secrets.

"I'm leaving her to you, Jeonghan," Nayeon Unnie smiled. Oh doesn't she know that she's literally selling me for free right now?

"Thank you, Eomma," Jeonghan said which make me face their direction?

Why did he call my UNNIE his EOMMA?!

Oh right... being Seungcheol's girlfriend basicaly means being the mom for Seventeen. Weird that Unnie is pretty childish to be a mother and I doubt that they'll be the ones to get married first.

"I heard about the latest check up, how are you both?" Jeonghan asked as he took the seat beside me. I looked away, I don't want to talk to him right now.

"Yeon..."

"Drop the nickname, Yoon Jeonghan. It's Jeongyeon, you don't have to call me that," I corrected him before meeting his eyes who are watery because of my words.

"Look, you are with Sowon. Having a daughter doesn't mean that you'll get involve---."

"What are you talking about? You want me to just step aside knowing that you, the woman I love, is carrying my daughter?" He asked. I laughed, ignoring his words, "Jeonghan. We don't have to be a couple again."

"You'll just cut off all of our ties now?"

"You should've stopped before this happened," I said. I know he knows what I am refferring to which made him clench his fists and looks at me.

"Do you think I can stop? We both know my feelings for you are still not completely empty. You know how many times I tried to call you, to contact you just to get back with you. You are the one who's been pushing me to her, and you failed to push me away completely," he said.

His eyes met mine, this time he looks so serious that made me scared.

"I would've done the same thing again if you're not pregnant," he suddenly said.

My mouth opened wide. "You pervert!"

He laughed, "I'm just joking don't be serious."

"But I'm serious when I told you I still love you. If you want me back, just tell me, I'll be beside you again," He said.

"But... what about her?"

"I would deal with it. It's my fault for having and committing in a relationship even when I'm not completely moved on. Besides, it's my mistake," he said.

He moved closer to touch my tummy.

"But you, you are not a mistake. I love you," he whispered as he is talking to the baby inside my tummy. I bit my lips to prevent myself from crying.

The moment I closed my eyes, his hands suddenly intertwined with his making me look at him straight at the eyes.

"Jeongyeon, I want to get involve. I want to be the father of our daughter," Jeonghan said. I smiled at his words, I am very fragile, they're right.

"I'm ready."

"Ready? What ready?"

"I'm ready to take you back in my life."

NAYEON's POV

I arrived at the cafe that Kai texted me. Yes, we are friends.

I am the one who set him up with Jennie two years ago. This guy has been broken ever since, lmao same with Baekhyun Oppa.

"Glad you're here now," he said. I sat down, "spill the tea."

He laughed while shaking his head, "the usual Nayeon. Anyway... don't get shocked."

"It's about Krystal."

And the epic flashbacks begins! Tan tan tan. Just kidding. I'm behaved.

"What about her? Is she talking to you now?" I asked.

Krystal Unnie NEVER talked to him after their break up. She's avoiding him at any costs. I don't blame her though... she's very hated by having a relationship with Kai Oppa years ago.

And just the fact that she's been hated by people, Kystal Unnie just shut the doors in front to avoid him from getting in. Not literally shutting doors but I hope you get what I meant.

"What if one day I realize that I still love her?"

"When that day comes, you will have to choose. Jennie or her. Your present or your past. The girl who loves you and fought for you or the girl who left you," I answered directly making sure to hit his ego.

He is my friend. But Jennie is my best friend. I don't want anyone to hurt her.

"Nayeon, this is hard," Kai bit his lips as his hands started to shake.

"You realized that as time goes by you still love her?"

He nodded.

"Jennie is someone special. I like her. I love her, too. But my heart just wont let go of that person," he gulped. "Even Jessica Noona doesn't want us together."

"You're blaming her?" I asked. Jessica Noona is being blamed for many things that happened in the past even though it's not her fault.

Kai shook his head, "No. The heavens know how much I respect Noona," he said.

"Then why are you dragging her in the topic?"

"It's true. Noona never liked us to date. She never liked the thought of me and her sister. She also said that our break up is more overwhelming than the actual relationship news," Kai explained.

He got a point. Jessica Unnie knows about the dark side of Kpop. She knows it so well.

She became a trainee at year 2000. Basically, she knows about the secrets and is just waiting to spill them one by one.

"You know, Kai... Jennie is my best friend."

"Shit. I didn't mean to---."

"But you are my friend. And I want you both to be happy, mutual happiness. And if won't get that while together then it is a better choice," I said.

"The obstacles are removed now. I know how you love her. Take the risk, don't worry. She left SM, that fucking entertainment won't get in the way between the two of you. You deserve to be happy for enduring those feelings for so long now," I smiled.

He smiled back, "thank you, Nayeon."

"No. Thank you for being honest."

"Just promise me one thing, Jongin."

"What is it?"

"Go easy on my friend."
