Nico's POV

Today's the day, today I'm going to Teresa's house, make the police arrest her, and save my Leo.

It's been three months and every day I see Leo with more bruises, cuts, and more fear. Not even I can touch him without him flinching, I had enough of this.

It was early, I used all my power to wake up at this hour. I used the trick Leo taught me when we were kids to open the lock of the door.

I quietly opened it, it was really dark, I could hardly see a thing, I stepped inside and went to find the basement where Leo probably was, failing to notice the person beside the door closing and the knife on their hand.

Leo's POV (an hour earlier)

Today's the day, the day when I'm finally getting out of this place. I desperately tried to hide the smile on my face because then Teresa would know something was up.

"Come here right now you piece of sh*t!!" I heard Teresa called me, I was terrified, what does she want now? I got up from the floor, wincing from the new cuts, and went upstairs to the kitchen.

I know, weird, what is a basement entrance doing in the kitchen? I want to know too.

"Yes m-ma'am?" I asked.

"I need you to buy some things on the store Dream Sky, here's a list." She said coldly and handed me a piece of paper.

Wait, did she say the store Dream Sky? "W-Wait I-"

"What. What now?" She snapped.

I swallowed, "Isn't-Isn't the D-Dream Sky store on the other side of the c-city?"

"Yeah so? Are you too useless to go?"

I looked down at my feet, "I don't.... I don't know t-that side of the city....ma'am"

"I knew you were useless to do one simple thing! How did your mom keep you?! God! You probably gave her a headache every time she sees you! No wonder she decided to die rather than spend another day with your worthless self!"

That hit home hard, and it hurt, it really did. Tears welled my eyes and I choked back a sob, God why am I crying? I'm so weak and useless.

"I'll do i-it ma'am, don't worry." I said.

She smirked, "Good, now go. And don't come back until you have everything!"

"Don't you even wonder if I'm gonna run away?" I mumbled.

"What was that?" She said, her eyes were furious, I shrunk down, oh heck, she heard me.

"I um, I was wondering if..... if there are um......discounts on the store?" It sounded like a question but I was hoping she would believe that, it was very believable if you ask me, but her eyes filled with pure hate and she slapped me.

"Do you think I'm stupid, Leonidas?" She threatened, I flinched and shook my head.

"I know you won't run away, I will always find you, didn't I find you the last time?" 

No please, I begged in my mind, please not like last time, please.

Two weeks after living with Teresa, I ran away, I thought I was free, that K wouldn't see her again, but three days later there she was, standing in front of my hiding spot with a huge man beside her.

They took her house into the basement again, Teresa was furious, she turned to the man and told him to do whatever he wants with me. The next thing I know, I was pinned to the floor and the man on top of me, a crazy smile on his face, one of his hands lowered and....

I squeezed my eyes shut, not wanting to remember that. One thing is pain from a belt, another thing is that. I never knew how she found me.

"N-No, n-no p-please." I whimpered.

She smiled, "Good boy. Now go!"

I nodded and ran out of there, heading to a bus so it can take me to that stupid store, completely forgetting the plan Nico and I had.

(Back to Nico's POV)

I finally found the basement, where Leo told me he stayed, I slowly opened it and went down.

"Leo? It's me, Nico." I silently called him, but I didn't hear a response.

The door behind me slammed closed, I jumped and looked around, it was darker here than upstairs, how can Leo see here? Speaking of him....

"Leo? Is that you?" I asked.

"Leo isn't here, sweetie." A voice said, my blood went cold, is that..

"Teresa," I spat, "Where's Leo?"

"Did you think your little plan would work? That's cute" She smirked, and raised her right hand with a knife on it.

I backed away, "W-What are you doing?" I asked, a little scared.

"Something I should have done months ago." She snarled and tackled me to the ground.

"Get off me!" I yelled, and tried to push her but she was too strong, or too fat.

"Now, now, you don't want your little boyfriend hurt right?" She said sweetly.

I stopped trying to push her and looked away, I didn't want my Leo to get more hurt, he already went through enough.

"Have he told you the time he cheated on you? Hm?" Teresa asked, a huge smirk on her face.

My eyes widened, "W-What? N-No, you're lying."

She shook her head, "I'm not, and let me just say," she leaned close and whispered in my ear, "They had so much fun."

My eyes filled with tears, Leo did that? He told me he wasn't ready, he wanted to wait, why did he do it with another guy?

I always was insecure about our relationship, if Leo really loved me, time passed and that insecurity started disappearing, but now it came as hard as ever.

"That's right, Leo never loved you. He probably is just using you to get out of here, he think you're-"

"Shut up shut up shut up SHUT UP!!!!" I yelled and threw her away from me, her head hit the ground with a crack! and she fell unconscious.

Or so I thought.

Just as I grabbed her phone to call the police, she grabbed me by the arm and stabbed the knife into my chest before dropping to the ground once more.

"NICO!!!" I heard a familiar yell.

My vision became blurry and I felt myself falling on the floor, I weakly looked up and saw a figure running towards me, I felt my head been placed in a soft place and terrified face looking down at me, I saw some crazy but nicely fixed curls, and I knew who it was, only one person can have crazy curls and still looks like they brushed their hair, Leo.

"I-It's going to be o-okay, j-just hold on, okay Neeks?" I heard Leo say.

My vision was getting blurrier, it became harder to keep my eyes open, I weakly raised my hand and placed it on Leo's cheek, wiping his tears with my thumb.

"D-Don't cry.." I whispered.

Leo let out a sob, "I'm n-not losing you, please. I c-can't lose someone e-else."

"I'm a-always here, I-" I coughed violently, my chest hurt like hell, it was hard to breathe.

"No, no, n-no, you'll be alright, please just-" Leo sobbed, "please"

I dropped my hand and started closing my eyes, "I'm sorry Lee-Lee."

And it all went black.
