11 years post war

I'm almost done cooking Rue's birthday breakfast.
"You remembered the cinnamon pancakes right babe?" Serenity asks from behind me, sneaking a quick peck on my cheek before walking by and grabbing dishes.

"Of course I remembered! It's her 11th birthday, I wouldn't forget her favorite!" I say in a joking tone.

"You said that the last two birthdays and you always forget them." Serenity says rolling her eyes as she places the dishes down at the table.
"Well I didn't forget this time!" I call out from the kitchen.

We hear a knock at the door and before Serenity can turn towards it we hear the pounding of feet down the stairs.
"IVE GOT IT!" Rue yells as she darts towards the door. She yanks it open and greats our guests enthusiastically.

"Oh uncle Draco you have brought me boys for my birthday! Oh you shouldn't have." Rue coos in a mocking tone while curtsying at the boys in front of her in an exaggerated manner.

"Wow. That is the sarcastic attitude of your mom if I've ever seen it." Draco jokes. But Rue isn't listening she just runs into the house with Teddy and Jude as if nothing happened.
"Wait for me!" Scorpius calls out as he unties his shoes and places them perfectly on the stand next to the door.

He attempts to chase after them but they are already too far ahead for him.
"Scorp, you don't have to take your shoes off ya know? Your friends didn't." I call out to him.
"It's only polite uncle Neville, I don't wanna dirty your home." He replies.

Draco rolls his eyes and rubs his face. He leans in towards me and and whispers.
"Merlin he sounds too far gone, my mom has really done a number on him all these years." He says.

I chuckle at this and he pats me on the back and takes over flipping pancakes while I arrange the rest of the breakfast.

Astoria had sadly passed soon after child birth. Narcissa and Serenity taking on the motherly roles in Scorpius' life. He was an interesting child. Very serious and very polite. A good way to explain him was tightly wound. Even worse than Hermione had ever been.

Rue was two years older so she was always closer with Edward Lupin and Jude Hellenberg. They had become best friends the three of them. Rue always got along with boys better, she was strong willed and brave.

"So you are stuck with all the boys?" I ask. Draco chuckles.
"Apparently if you have the biggest house people think that's where the kids should sleep over." Draco replies.
"Makes sense to me." I joke.

Another knock at the door.
"I've got it auntie!" Scorpius calls out. He runs and opens the door.

"Hey scorp!" I hear someone call out.
I watch as Harry, Ron, James, Rose, and Albus walk in.
"Harry, Ron, welcome in!" Serenity says as she welcomes more guests into our home.

Hermione and Ron had two children. Rose and Hugo.

Harry and Ginny had three, James, Albus, and Lily.

James was one year younger than Rue.
Albus, scorpius, and Rose were were two years younger. Lily and Hugo were the youngest. They were only 6.

"Where is Rue?" James asks Scorpius.
"Ooooooo already looking for your girlfriend?" Rose calls out.
"Shove off Rosie!" James scoffs as he walks towards the back door. Rose and Albus giggle together and scorpius stands awkwardly wondering what was so funny.

"Ginny and Hermione?" I ask Ron as he opens my fridge and helps himself to butter beers.
"Wow a little early for that don't you think?" Draco asks as he carries the pancakes passed us.
"The girls are with the toddlers. They don't quite get the whole 11th birthday thing yet so they stayed home." Harry replies.

"I hear Hermione is busy with Ministry stuff anyway." Draco says from the dinning room.
"Yeah! How is that? Must be a lot of work!" Serenity exclaims.

"I'm not sure how she does it to be honest, I've got my hands full just working my job and dealing with a toddler. How do you deal with the kids sleeping over all the time Malfoy?" Ron says trying to get a rise from him.

"Oh it's easy, I'm rich." Draco replies.
"Oohhhh nice one!" Serenity chuckles.

We all laugh and playfully joke back with one another.

"ITS HERE!" We all hear Rue call from the back door. She rushes in with a letter in her hands. James, Jude, and Teddy quickly follow from behind.

"Everybody come sit at the table!" Serenity calls out.

After everyone is seated Rue stands up on her chair.
"Okay everyone ready?" She exclaims.
Everyone leans forward and nods mumbling in anticipation.

Rue rips open the letter.

"Dear Rue Alice Longbottom." Rue starts. She takes a deep breath before she continues.
"We are pleased to inform you that you have been excepted into Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry!" She exclaims. Everyone cheers and claps for her.

Welp. I'm sad and excited to say that this is the end of my fan fiction!! Omg thank you all so much for reading this!

One is a sequel to this one. It's called 'Mistakes' and is set during the cursed child. It follows Jude Hellenberg through his time in Hogwarts!
(So many of you voiced that you enjoyed my original character Hubar and wanted more from him so this is my way of doing that!)

My next book is one I have been working on before this one, but I'm currently re writing it. It's an 18+ Enemies to lovers Draco Malfoy fic!
