The Burden I Bear Alone

5 2 1

I live in fear
At night, it comes out to torment me,
And I have no reason not to let it.

I have the light
In the day, but it only appears once,
Every while, when I feel... lost.

But the hope fades
And light dims,
Just as all things do,

And the people die
And the things break, and get lost
Just as all things do.

And so I creep back,
Into the darkness
That I was found in

for it is that of which I came,
And that in which I should return.

It is only in the darkness,
That I take the blade,
And push it,
Into the paleness,
And the numb feeling

And the anger,
The hate and the sorrow drips,
Drips from the pale.

Showing the only colour,
The only thing that I could ever feel

The numbness doesn't take long
To come back.

It comes again
And again and again

And I take the blade again and again

But I tell no one.
For the last one to bear it with me,
Once shrugged me off
Like a backpack that could be left

For they couldn't do it,
So I bear it alone.

It is, the burden I bear Alone.
For who is there to bear it with me?
