The Honor

2 1 1

To words left unsaid,
And books left unread,

To things we should have done,
And the things we shouldn't have.

To music left unlistend,
To poems left unwritten,

To those we loved
And those who loved us.

To everything that went past,
To everything that happened,

To everything that I wrote
And you followed suit.

I only wish...

You could have stayed longer.

You didn't deserve the life you did,
You didn't deserve the death you did,

You deserved more than me,
And them, and you still deserve

To be remebered.

There is nothing left to do. But to remeber.

And if we remeber those things we never did,
And things we never said,
Books we never read,
And music we never heard.

And if we rember those things we never did,
And the poems we never wrote,
And everything that went past,
And everything that happened,

Then the honor is in life,
And not death,

The honor is in being,
And in what has been.

The honor is life,
And the honor is death.
