I look out the window and see the sign "Welcome To Nashville."
My parents decided to move from the big city to a normal little town to have a fresh start with God by our side.
I smile at the small lights around the town as I start humming. Suddenly a few lyrics come in my mind as I say in a whisper,"Shine. Shine. Shine the light, it's time to let it show burn bright...."
I take my journal filled with lyrics that come to my mind and find some notes on my guitar. I keep writing until the car stops.
My dad turns to me and says,"Alright kiddo. Where here."
I open the door and go out to see a small apartment. I sigh and say,"Dad. Why didn't we just stay in LA?"
My dad frowns and says,"Because Moriah the Lord told me that my mission is to come here and talk about the word of God."
I frown and say,"Ya well LA was better than this."
My dad looks at me with anger and with a stern voice says,"Moriah you know we do what God says and that is it."
He walks in with bags in his hands as my mom turns to me and says,"Honey we're all just tired. Let's go sleep cause tomorrow is your first day in your new school."
I groan and say,"I hate moving."
My mom chuckles and hugs me saying,"I know honey but the Lord told us to do this and we have to do it,okay?"
I nod and grab my bag as we head inside. We walk inside and I look around the small place. I go where my dad told me is my new room and lay on my bed.
I close my eyes and pray until sleep takes over me.
I wake up with the alarm of my clock. I groan and hit the snooze button frustrated that I have to go to a new school.
I get up and change into a blue long sleeve shirt with some white pants and light brown sandals.
I go downstairs with my new backpack and books as I see my dad reading a newspaper and my mom in the kitchen making breakfast.
I smile at them and say,"Good morning mom and dad."
My dad smiles and says,"Morning kiddo. How did you sleep?"
I smile and say,"Fine."
My mom comes up to me and kisses my cheek saying,"Nervous?"
I take a deep breath and say,"Ya."
She chuckles and says,"Don't worry you'll have an excellent day. I can just feel it."
I chuckle and start eating my breakfast that my mom handed me. My dad comes over with the bible and starts reading Jeremiah 31.
I smile as I hear my dad read verse 3,my favorite verse. That verse always lets me know that if I feel down the Lord loves me and picks me back up.
My dad finishes and starts praying. We end the prayer and I check the time as I say,"Oh shoot! I'm gonna be late!"
My mom quickly gets up with me and grabs her purse and keys as I kiss my dad goodbye. My mom starts the car and we head out.
We arrive at my new highschool as I see many students walking in.
I turn to my mom and say,"I don't want to be the nerd girl or jesus girl again. I'm nervous."
My mom gives me a kiss on the forehead and says,"Don't worry the Lord will fight your battles and something tells me that this time it will be different."
I smile at her and nod as I step out of the car and head to the entrance of the school with my head low.
I start praying to myself in a whisper,"Lord give me strength and fight my battles please. I know you have a purpose for me here."
I take a deep breath and walk through the doors.
The Lord is with me.
